His bail was set at $315,000.... If convicted, Gonzales faces a possible maximum penalty of 16 years and 10 months in county prison

Murderers in my state do about three and a half years. I smell a social justice warrior prosecutor. I don't even think there is a case, here, at least for the restaurant incidents. How do you prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the women involved didn't agree to pay for his meal?

It’s California, most of the residents there, including quite a few legal professionals seem to have lost their rational minds in the last couple years or so.…
Some decisions and policies are starting to border on socialism over there…

I had the same thoughts, doesn't this happen to most guys who go on dates i.e. stuck with the bill? But then they're setting the sentence based on the counts of money laundering etc.

It's like their making an example.
 

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.
