"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

Sooooooooo...

Still not really back in the dating game...lack of energy is part of it, but I am also not really meeting girls who I am that into or interested in.

Last night, however, I went to my usual bank, and there was this really cute new teller who ended up serving me. Were were chatting her up, getting personal, etc., not typical teller/customer interaction...and she seemed really cool. I would have really liked to chat with her a bit more, and would have at least attempted to asked her out/ get her # if I had more time...but there was a loooooong line of people waiting, so I felt a bit pressured to get going.

The dilemma of course, is that in any service industry, it comes down to "was she being friendly because it is her job?" - and certainly, that is not a question I wish to discuss or want to ponder over.

But, regardless, I left thinking..."she was cute...damn...I wish I had more time to chat with her..."

I am at the bank "maybe" once a week, and I don't necessarily want to start randomly finding excuses to go there to see if she is working to chat her up.

When I was younger, I would "make" those chance encounters happen (like knowing when a certain girl was going to be somewhere, and making sure I was there as well)...it ended up feeling stalker-ish...and that she was a prize I was chasing...which I never really liked - maybe I am just lazy..hahaha...

My feeling is just kick back, and if she happens to be there next time, great, move forward, engage, see what the vibe is like, and take it from there...if she is not, then maybe the next time.

Or am I being too passive here?

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Yes, she is being nice to you because it's her job, BUT, that doesn't mean she wouldn't go out with you.

I've only ever asked out a bank teller once. Even though I was young and inexperienced, I had a pretty good idea.

I went to the bank, and on a deposit slip I wrote, "Would you like to go out some time? If so, write down your number." Or something like that. And I slid it to her side of the glass. (This was someone with whom I'd had a few interactions already, like yours.)

She read it, smiled, and wrote something down, then stamped it (ha) and slid it back. It said "I would love to but I have a boyfriend." She was smiling about it though - I think she admired my guts, and probably appreciated that I asked her quietly without getting her into trouble or embarrassing her.

Overall, don't dwell too much on any one woman who pays attention to you - just ask, and let the chips fall where they may.
heh if I would ask someone on they job that would be the best way, just make sure you really had something to do there to not look like you was trying to steal from the bank

I'd wait to run into her someone else, for a couple of reasons:

1 - You avoid the whole weirdness of her being on the job
2 - It's help you avoid one-itis

this reminds of my time with a bank teller.

I would flirt with a bank teller every time I'd go to where she worked. Then one day, I went out on a date and my grandma calls me saying that a chick from the bank had called asking for me.

Chick's IL was really high that she went to the bank records to look for my number!:D

So passive, I question if you call yourself a man. I think you should get your testosterone checked.

I would say, always go for it. Obv be intelligent given #metoo; subtlety goes a long way. Be aloof, nonchalant, indifferent. And yet, fire off where you are going, what you are going to do, and tell her to come.

Pull or #nextset!

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

Just because someone is being nice because of professional etiquette does not prevent to gauge any interest at all. What have you got to lose? If she is taken or not interested does not create any discomfort. You were simply exploring just like one does with any woman.
