Christians,

I've often wondered something...

Isn't it a sin to sleep with any woman who isn't your wife?

I don't know the exact verses in the Bible that point to this, but it is a Christian "rule" advocated by every preacher I've heard or known.

How do you reconcile the sin of "sexual immorality," and yet sleep with women who aren't your spouse?

Do you just bang a chick, then immediately say a silent prayer to Jesus asking for his forgiveness?

I'm really curious, because it seems like nothing less than hypocrisy to me.

Care to share your thoughts?

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

It's all good as long as she's Christian also, and you both pray before and after you bang her brains out.

Funny. But I'm serious, and would like serious answers.
There is no specific prohibition in the Bible against sex between an unmarried man and unmarried woman.
No commandment for that one…
If you or her are married though, that's a big problem…
Think about the words covet and adultery.

But the Bible certainly condemns fornication. Isn't that the same thing? And every pastor I've known or heard of considers premarital sex a sin.

Silly troll starts a thread about a book he hasn't read. I smell the ban hammer...it cometh soon.

Doesn't matter what religion it is, the holy books are always interpreted different ways by different people.
Go find a preacher that thinks fvcking is ok and everything's fine.

I never said I haven't read the Bible. I said I don't know the exact verses that condemn fornication.

Funny how you completely side-stepped answering the question again, though, and instead start accusing me of being a troll. Do you and your faith feel threatened by me?

Well, if they're all open to interpretation, what's the point in having or reading them then? If a person is just going to interpret it any way they see fit, why not just take out the middle man, and decide for themselves?

Most intelligent adult people interpret the book for themselves and live their own understanding of their faith if they want to, instead of being told by another person what it means…

I did a little research...

The Bible puts fornication in league with murder, theft and lying, among other things as defiling a person.

Unless someone's trying to twist verses in the Bible to conform to their own selfish agenda, I think it's pretty safe to say fornication is wrong and sinful, according to Jesus himself.

So how can Christians be Don Juans (and not be hypocrites)?

I think Gimple is Danger.
Nope.

And He said, “That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: all these evil things come from within and defile the man.”

So according to Jesus, if you're a "player," you're defiling yourself, and thus probably not congruent with your faith.

There's another one, too, by the Apostle Paul, that pretty much says you're going to hell if you fornicate.

What are you saying ... you fvck goats?

But back to the original question: How can you be a Christian Don Juan and not be a hypocrite?

I don't think you can. If you are a Don Juan, you're destined for hell. Thus, you're not really a Christian.

Boy, am I glad I'm an atheist.

Nah, you're just saying that because now you're probably scared of going to hell for having sex outside of marriage.

And you were condemning me earlier because you thought I hadn't read the Bible? But it appears you haven't ... and you're the one who believes in it.

And for future reference, maybe you might actually want to address my points with your own arguments instead of repeatedly yelling "Troll!" at everything I say, like you're in some kind of Harry Potter novel. Just a suggestion.

DJs and Christians get along fine.

If you're mid twenties, you could be a group leader of a youth ministry, for example.

Lots of young poon there to lead astray...

Plus one might argue that a virgin christain could be applying DJ principles just to get to first base until he gets enough experience to pick the right one.

Maybe being a "Don Juan" and being a Christian aren't mutually exclusive -- if there's no intercourse involved. But being a guy who sex's the ladies sure is, and that's what I'm referring to in this thread when I've said DJ.

According to the Bible, all players or fornicators go straight to hell. Galatians is pretty clear on that.

Matthew 7:1-3

1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.

2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

John 8:7

So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
