Not sure if i got fired today

I have a part time job doing statistical analysis for a company, i'm a student so i only work 14-16 hours a week.

About 3 months ago i got "promoted"/relocated (but only got 0.20cents more per hour) and was given a project to manage which doesn't involve anything to do with my current job. Last week the project was over.

Today i got to work, and my female boss tells me we need to talk. i get in her office, and she tells me i should quite my job, or she'll fire me. She claimed no one from the new workers wants to work with me. I told her i've been working on the project she gave me for 3 months, and i've been in contact with plenty of people and had zero complains, and my team seemed to like working with me. Keep in mind that this project is NOT intended for a part time job, i've literally busted my a$$ over this.

I've explained to her that i haven't been working with the new workers because she was the one giving me a project to run, and that i had to manage people my self (other students), but she wouldn't listen. She told me that the hard work that i've done is basically rubbish and that she could have done it quicker and better. she also says i should have asked for other tasks in addition to running the project, which i haven't done.

She told me she doesn't care what i have to say, because i'm gonna be gone one way or another. I've explained to her what she says makes no sense, because i just did what she wanted me to do. at the end she told me that MAYBE she will try to talk to the new workers ,and ONLY if they want to, she'll give me another chance.

She also offered me doing the same job but getting paid only 200 euros a month. (5h per week) i told her no.

I told her i'm taking two weeks off because i have my finals this month, and then we'll talk about it agian. I'm guessing she will eventually fire me.

WTF happend i have no idea... f*cking c*unt.

That's a bit of a bullsh!t statement on her part. She can't 'tell' you to quit. She can only fire you and with good reason. Depending which country you are in, there are employment laws against that kind of thing.

Again this sounds like she should have been supervising your work all the way along and if she hasn't she can't really argue with the way you handle the project.

This may well be true, your relationship with your boss is partly your responsibility, but it's mostly hers. Again she should be keeping tabs on you, not just fire you out of the blue.

This really is bullsh!t and shows she's definitely talking out of her a$$. One minute she tells you to leave and the next she's trying to negotiate different working terms.

Best thing you can do is go to Human Resources and talk through your options. The other thing I would personally do at the same time is start looking for another job immediately. This boss sounds like a clown.

The thing is, she told me that nobody from the new workers wants to work with me, and they are now responsible for giving me task - but i didnt even have the chance to work with them yet.
Even if i stay, it would be very weird because i know these people almost got me fired. I never had fights with anyone, and i'm actually very friendly.

I've went to a person in the company, which is her job to help in such situation (not HR), she told me that i'm basically f*cked.

My contract says i need to be warned before getting fired (3 warnings or 2 warnings in severe cases) but i'm sure she can work that out very quickly.

You need to go to HR. If you are supposed to have warnings but haven't had them, they are basically breaking the terms of your contract and you can sue them for constructive dismissal - which they don't want. It's happened to me before and it sucks.

You'd do well to summarise all of the conversations you had and the general situation in writing and send them to HR, and, ask what your options are. Also tell them you haven't received any warnings.

Also inform your boss (in writing) that you need to contact HR before you discuss things with her further. If you don't have things written down, then they didn't happen. You ideally need to do all this within the next 24 hours.

It means that your boss is a liar and just pulled that excuse out of her butt.

Be perceptive to what other workers actually think of your work.

Start hedging your bets by looking for another job. You don't want to be caught by surprise.

This is very true but he lives in Europe so the laws might be different in his country or state. That's why I said he needs to study up.

It's safe to say European law and US law are two very different things

In the UK, depending who you work for, it's nearly impossible to get rid of someone. But it's true that different legislation applies in different European countries.

In this country, the OPs boss would be in some deep sh!t right now.

Funny, this is what my work colleagues told me, especially about the part with the 5 hour/week negotiating thing, dirty stuff.
My former boss (up until 3 months) was shocked too that the new boss wants to fire me.

I got 32 paid vacation days left, so this gives me more than a month to look for a new job after getting fired.

I'll definitely look it up with HR, right now i just want to pass my exams.

It's a common practice, job is done, you are not needed. Firing you would involve financial implications, if you quit it's a different story. The only question is this, are you getting ****ed career wise if they fire you? If the answer is yes, quit, if it doesn't matter, then don't quit, let them fire you. Perhaps she could write a nice recommendation letter if you quit, ask her about it, be polite. Either way, you need to change job, your future with that company has come to its end.

Sounds like they horizontally promoted you to get ****ed. It's harder these days...especially in Europe to just straight up fire somebody unless they break a law/rule. The company felt it was necessary to get rid of you and you are probably just in their backdoor firing process. You can either think about what you did wrong and think of ways to improve yourself for your next job or cry and moan and fight them for years.
