Anybody played?

I've been reading a lot about it, seen some messed up vids of zombified people.

Hasn't made it to Japan yet.

My opinion? This looks like the beginning of a twilight zone episode, where everybody thinks something is awesome before the aliens swoop in and eat everybody.

I've been playing it since release but not so much these passed two days. However... Places are flooded at random hours of the day and night. Some of the girls who plays this game are actually attractive.

The way I see it, it's the perfect conversation opener to pick up girls or just meet new people. I'm currently trying to get a girl because of this app.

The 21 y/o I have been hanging out with is into it. I don't even have a smart phone to run apps, but I feel like I know a lot about the game.

The real story is Nintendo's stock price. The market sees augmented reality as having a big future in marketing. The profit potential is enormous.

The patrol vehicle I drive on the beat is a big trunk with big pretty red and blue lights. We simply call it "the beast". The other day right after the Pokeymon fad infected the USA this dude stepped right in from of the truck as I was heading to a call. Face buried in his phone, no clue of the world around him. It's a good thing the truck has good breaks and can come to a full stop instantly or there would be one less Pokeymon player among us. Idiot..

I play. I grew up on the Gameboy version, so this is natural. Actually helps me learn the area I just moved to recently.

There are a few spots where people are gathered, but it isn't as bad here as the videos in other places. Did see a local cop stopping by the spots though when I was out getting food.

I haven't played it, but I like the concept. I don't have any interest in Pokemon, but if someone came up with a similar game where you kill zombies and you get to collect different weapons I'd give it a shot.

Pokemon Go is just the beginning. In 30 to 40 years, the world will be far more virtual than it is today. All these current trends and changes, be it virtual reality in the industrial sector, be it 3D printing, be it completely autonomous robots/vehicles and the rate at which these trends are currently being financially promoted, give a small impression of the technical changes we should prepare ourselves for.

Singlehandedly innovate their entire genre? That's just not true. Niantic is the developer and they've had a very very similar game for a few years already. Nintendo just came along thinking "hmm, if we just slap Pokèmon on their game it's gold".

I downloaded the game briefly, it bored me & got deleted within 10 minutes. I am not a huge games fan though. When my boys were gaming I was out playing sport or hitting on women. That being said I now enjoy the odd online game of Call of Duty or FIFA on my PS3.

I can see the attraction as Pokemon was HUGE when I was young.

Easy win for Nintendo. My estimation is that usage will peak late this year when the game is available to all markets and then drop off throughout next year to a level which it sustains.

Pokemon and Go are two different animals... go is just some retarded mini game about collecting pokemon avatars, its made for idiots. Pokemon for the Gameboy was an RPG made for children. A CCG card game was also released which required some strategy and thought. This version is an extremely dumbed down game for losers and fadrunners who don't consider themselves to be gamers. This is a fad the same way tamogotchi was and people play it just to belong to the herd. This is no different than Ingress or any of those other mindlessly stupid Geocache games. Any game that women think is 'cool' to like, is nothing but a fad. In my experience the only game requiring some thought that women ACTUALLY enjoy is Bubble Bobble [Bust a Move]. When I was in high school the only guy that owned a pokemon pickachu tamagotchi was a fat nerd who stank of sweat/unwashed clothing... and was teased accordingly.

This should be a game played by children 10 and under, instead you have 20 and 30 something adultlings with no children and no idea how to be responsible, wandering around mindlessly staring into a smartphone. After having experienced VR, I am floored that more people are into Go.

I'm a gamer at heart but it takes a lot to keep me playing a game simply because I outgrew that part of my life. The first day I started playing PokemonGo I predicted that the game would be dead in 2 months.

The battle system is bad, the catch system can get annoying(for me at least), wasting gas to travel for a CHANCE to catch something, CP not meaning anything because countering the Pokemon is more effective, only getting 10 pokecoins for holding down a gym for 24 hours when the cheapest thing in the shop is 200 coins(pay to win kind of), and holding down a gym just requires a number of supplies until one of you runs out.

I actually don't even play the game anymore unless I'm with friends, even then it's limited. I'm actually thinking about getting the Samsung S7 so I can get a free VR. VR porn sounds interesting not going to lie...

A lot of people who play the game play it for nostalgia though. There's a reason why they only released the first generation pokemon. I played the crap out of those games, 100% completion and dozens of 100's throughout, back in the days so my 'fix' for pokemon is long gone.
