just been watching a depressing news story, havent got a link so cant share it.
more than 50% UK women are now overweight, how do they receive this news? the fashion industry has to move to make fashions more accessible for these 'real' women.
now I really dont like stick insects but this big fat snowball is rolling down the hill and gathering even more snow, most women size 14 or more today...5 years time, most women will be size 16 or more, the normality goalposts being moved towards oebesity.
what the fvck is wrong with these people?

got my sizes wrong!! they are bigger than I realised

"I love my curves. Marilyn Monroe was a size 14"
I dont know how true that it, she never looked like a 14 to me, by todays standard, Id say she looked a 10 at most.

Im trying to learn french, those women still have it, British women arent going to be reigned back any time soon, if ever, those shapeless muffin tops are like a disease

The "Marilyn Monroe Was A Size 14" trope is one of THE BIGGEST feminist lies of all time. It is now accepted as conventional wisdom - to the point that even a poster on SS (Social Leper) agrees with it but clarifies that it was in the sixties, when every woman was supposedly bigger. (SL - I'm not attacking you - just demonstrating how successful the lie has become.)

But was she a size 14? Check out this link for some myth-busting:

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-...-myth-of-zaftig-marilyn-virginia-postrel.html

Monroe’s costume was displayed on a mannequin that had been carved down from a standard size 2 to accommodate the tiny waist. Even then, the zipper could not entirely close.
And that's not even adjusting for, eh, inflation. With America's expanding waistlines have come sizing adjustments by clothing companies, all to make us feel better.

The size thing is absolutely true. I work in clothing and we definitely re-size merchandise as Americans become fat asses....we don't want to hurt their wittle feewings......awwwww

You would be surprised. With garments that we don't change the sizes much (that we have had for a long time, the women complain like mad saying how our sizes are not at all accurate (everything is way smaller then the size we tell them it is, even when we post the f*cking measurements for the products they still say we measure wrong...hahahaha)

Same down here.

I was on a uni campus on Orientation Week today (meaning the new undergrads are visiting campus for the first time). So many fat chicks, and they are meant to be women at their prime. Even many of the ones who aren't fat (yet) have that doughy skinny fat look which is the result of no exercise and poor diet. They will get fat by the time they graduate in a few years.

I live in UK but my girlfriend if French.

She has told me how her mother has told her about watching her weight and eat properly since young.

This may sound vain, but her mother was 100% right on about the 'sexual value' of her daughter by staying in shape. I also met her mother and agree that French has at least this thing right with raising girls. They want their daughters to be best off and attractive for men without suffering the consequences of negative rejection because of something they have full control of: their body figure.

They should maybe think about changing all women's clothing size labels:

Slim
Fat
****ing Obese

chubby chaser

Most women get a little chubby as they age, just like most men.
Can they balance their own checkbook? That's a lot more important than how they look, trust me. (at least, in the long run)

If you're only in it for the short run, simply avoid the other 50%.
Remember, looks always change over time. Beauty is only constant when it's on the inside, too.

samp read my post again bro and note the quotation marks.

I don't believe that garbage but that's what I hear a lot of borderline chubbies saying.

And for those who can't be bothered to read the article, what it (and I) were trying to say is that size 14 back then is a size 10 now. As in the same exact women (figure).

In other words a women who is actually a size 18 (or would have been back in the 60s) is now a size 14 because the fashion industry have inflated (well actually deflated) the size bands in order to appease the female ego.

Nowhere did I say that women were bigger back then. In fact my post was saying the exact opposite.

So MM who might have been a 14 or 12 in dress size in the 1960s, if she were alive today would be a size 10.
Ah, gotcha bro. I misunderstood the first time I read it.

Reminds me of the quote "fat doesn't make you fat; carbs do."

why thank you !

maybe the french are coming off the last bend with a wind in their Gallic sail?

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...d-blamed-alarming-obesity-figures-France.html

the link to junk food simpy cannot be denied anymore! one region of France, Gascony, has what Doctors would have us believe, is a seriously unhealty diet, far more red meat being consumed than they should be eating, everything fried in duck or Goose fat...and yet those same region have some of the lowest rates of heart disease in the world???
Slim elegant French women are now on the extinction 'at risk' list now ..I want to die.

Let's all keep in mind that women get fatter when they're having babies. The map of Obesity Worldwide, and the map of Average Breast Cup Size in the World, doesn't factor for greater rates of maternity and lactation in Eastern Europe, or for the greater proportion of old women in Western Europe.

I have no hard evidence to back it up, but it looks like these six-foot-tall Amazon women who grew up on hormone-injected animal products are not just bigger, but also have a higher body percentage of fat.

(Odd that Belarus has fatter women with smaller breasts than its neighbors.)

I do think that growth hormones are playing a bigger part in the obesity epidemic than most people realize. There are more gyms, exercise programs, diets, health foods, and low carb products than ever before, yet people just continue to get fatter.

Dear Zecko,
"I do think that growth hormones are playing a bigger part in the obesity epidemic than most people realize"...Could well be but Australia and probably England don't allow fattening hormone supplements or injections in animals, and believe me we have our share of Fatties...
Getting back to Fat,the basis of the Atkins diet, the only one I have seen working over a long time,is to eat fat because it satisfies....But still underneath it all lies a genetic propensity to be overweight, some races, like say our own Aborigines have Bulimic tendancies,in their recent past, this had real survival value!
