I spent an entire year playing a computer game called "SubSpace" for 9 hours a day when I was 17. I still play it every now and then, owning the hell out of everybody.

I'm a graphics designer, I've been doing that since I was 12 (started with PSP4, yeah baby! :D). Right now I'm actually making a living doing that. Not really geeky, but still.

I've had a computer in my house since I was about 5. I've been raised with computers, I've had my own since I was 14 and know all the ins and outs.

I listen to online radio almost all the time, varying from the 80's channel, to Smoothjazz to classical music. I always listen to classical music while studying, turning up the volume as loud as I can.

I can type at 480 characters per minute.

I spend several hours a day chatting on MSN.

I record the amount of keypresses I make each day with
www.project-dolphin.nl. I average about 20 000 a day.

I sometimes practice my keyboard skills for fun, just because I like doing it.

I'm part of a real-life social group which consists 100% of geeks. I've become an outsider to the group (which is somewhat funny, seeing as they're all outsiders as well :D) since I got into being a DJ. Don't worry, I have other social groups as well ;).

Getting the vector source files of often used logo's gives me a hard-on.

Wow, talk about going to the roots of my geekiness... But I'm proud of it all nevertheless!

rofl, no kidding! I finally found the vector (swf) source files for all the Windows XP icons/logos, I was so pumped!

- I wear flannel shirts (hey they're warm)
- I've never had a TV (every show I've watched has been on my computer in divx format)
- I watch Friends (I know)
- I drive at 55 MPH when I'm by myself (I have an old escort that can't go very fast, hey, u get better MPG too, and I'm really cheap, it's sad having to remember you should go 70 in a 55 when you're on a date just so the girl in the passenger seat doesn't think your crazy)
- I get pumped when a new version of a software title is released, even when all my friends can't tell a difference. (or course I have to get the alpha and the beta too). P.S. Longhorn sucks right now, when is Dell going to release drivers for it to work with my laptop?
- I asked one girl "out" one time... to sit in a cisco switchroom surounded by servers and network cables (and switches) while we watched pirated divX movies on my laptop. (She never went out with me again)

Subspace is awesome. I suffered in High School (mostly 97-98) because of it; stayed up late into the night playing it with friends. I even switched ISPs a few times so I could get better ping times for the game.

I recently had a nostalgia trip for a month or so and played a bunch of Trench Wars, which I don't think existed in my day.

Currently, I play World of Warcraft mostly. That'll be my geek thing for this thread.

Yeah, I've been playing it for 5 years now. I used to play in TW as a Terrier, getting 2:1 w/l (Geeky thread, right? :D)
I played and owned in OKBL, TW, EG, Survivor and MGCTF. It's fun to learn how to play certain zones and become a top player.

I've suddenly had a relaps into geekness. For the last week I've been playing Star Wars:Knights of the Old Republic I and II. Hooking up with Bastilla kinda makes me pop a boner.

It's free, don't worry :D
It used to be called SubSpace when it was still owned by VIE (Virgin Entertainment). It got renamed to Continuum a few years ago when VIE gave it up.

You can download the game from http://sshq.forumhq.net/ .
It may look simple, but mind you, it's a challenging game. There are so many different kinds of games that can be played in this game, it's almost unbelievable. You can play defending and attacking enemy bases, you can rec (kill as many people as possible w/o getting killed yourself), you can play capture the flag, you can play elimination matches, you can play american football, and there are hundreds of other unique events to choose from. The game is so simple that it can be made truly complex at the same time as well. If you get into it a little deeper, you'll realize that this is a game that can be played in thousands and thousands of different ways and they are almost all fun to do.

As of late, I have been reccing most of the time. I can get an easy 20 kills for each deaths without really trying, because of my superb aim and technique ;).
