So what is this 50 shades book

Every woman I know is rushing out to buy 50 shades of grey. Whats up with that? What about this book, makes it crack to women?

I know nothing about this book, but I asked a woman, and she replied "well you guys have internet porn, we prefer books" hmm

Has anyone heard anything about this book? Should I be concerned that every woman is reading it?

50 SHades is, at the core, a romance novel. The kink is just thrown in as a teaser. It's a deadly marketing combo. It's doing better with older ladies just as the world of kink does better with the older crowd. I would guess the younger women (in general) just aren't as open to exploring alternate sexual tastes. For many women it's probably something they grow into as they become bored with vanilla sex.

My wife read all three and said the last was really pretty boring and a struggle to get through. And FYI, the 50 Shades heroine never truly submits....

It's not just a romance novel. It was a Twilight Fan Fiction book. The main characters were supposed to be the ones from Twilight, and then it got picked up and cleaned up. Which as anyone who knows anything about fan fiction can tell you, the writing is always horrible. Apparently 50 Shades is no exception. I've seen people rip it apart for it's terrible writing and insipid characters and plot. But then again we watch porn with a pizza guy coming to bring the sausage....pretty much the same thing.
