That's because it is profitable to do so. We get the government we elect. Government is just an extension of the value system of its people.

The best bet for this country is to vote Sanders and primary all sitting Democrats out of office. The Republican Party is way too far gone.

That part is not an opinion. 99.9% of citizens do not economically benefit from the Republican Party's platform.

But hey, if you culturally jive with the brand of stuff they are selling about family, guns, God, and abortion, that is on you.. and is certainly your opinion. I just personally don't think it's worth going to war or sacking the economy for values that they sell and don't even represent.

@EyeBRollin It was not the impact of the plane crashing that destroyed the towers. The towers could easily take the physical impact, in fact if you watch the video you will see that the actual impact and initial explosion did not cause the buildings to topple. It was the hot burning jet fuel which caused a fire that weakened parts of the structure. This weakening causes building to buckle and collapse under its vertical mass, which makes it look like it is a demoltion. I have worked in construction in many areas since I was 18 for 9 years now... I know what I am talking about.
