I'm 45, in great shape with a good job and no baggage.

I ran into an chick friend at the beach yesterday. We dated for a short time and I REALLY LIKE her but, her interest level was low. So i gave up on pursuing a BF/GF relationship and kept her as an aquaintance.

We talk from time to time and even do some business together since we are in related fields.

Anyway, she's at the beach and introduces me to her new boyfriend. I'm looking at the guy and wondering...WTF does she see in this guy? The dude was pasty white,...and average looking.

I chatted up with her for a while and she introduced me her friends that were there....and this New dude. He starts trying to get cute with me...but he's no match for my wit. He walks away and continues his conversation with his other male friend in the group.

I don't give a flying fvk cause i'm over 6ft and muscled at 200 plus pounds.

So i continue talking to the chick and she's starts getting close to me likes she's attracted to me (guess she never saw me with my shirt off). I'm thinking to myself..."wtf are you doing...trying to get the BF jealous." We finished our convo and she reached out to hug me and i obliged.

I'm walking away with my walkman on...and start wondering WTF is she trying to pull.

Anyway, i'm having mixed feelings about her and looking for some feedback from older dudes about this...

What do you think?

Dude, you sound very alpha when badmouthing the man she choose. Perhaps the looks, and the bod are not the #1 things she looks for in a man. Maybe he's got a goofy wit and sense of humor, opposed to a sarcastic wit, or whatever. Maybe she's not into guys who say they are 34 because they look good for their age, yet are 45. Maybe she is not into tall, built men who still roll around with a Walkman. I don't know, you dont' know. Who cares.

You should go hit up on different hotties. Don't let her use you just for ego stroking. The truth is that she wasn't interested in you. If she is now, let her pursue you and prove herself, and she might just earn back a chance to be noticed by you.

...If you would have been at the beach with 28yo HB9 who was all over you, you wouldn't have cared and your lady friend probably would have been stealing looks the entire time. And her new BF would have been seeing you much differently.

Isn't it great being a woman's girlfriend :) My favorite part is the introduction to the new boyfriend (sigh). Times like those really make you cherish the value of a new friendship!

I'm walking away with my walkman on...
...I was going to ask what "tape" you were listening too but the other guys grilled you pretty hard on this already!

Haha...

...Seems like a lot of "Men" (said tough in cheek) are more interested in the type of technology i use as opposed to the substance of post. Truth is...i use a blackberry that is loaded with all my favorite tunes...and i use an ipod earbud set to listen and take phone calls with. i posted walkman because its a detail that is not important (at least to me its not...lol).

Now that we've cleared up the technology issues my age is as stated. (Probably filled in the background info in a hurry). Seems the snopes again, are more worried about a typo than substance.

It pains me to say this...but...All the above proves is that "you have nothing" of constructive value to add....(sigh)

NOTE
On a positive note, I figured out what to do. She's gonna be needing something from me real soon (business)...and i'm gonna rub her nose in the new BF deal. The dude's got white hair (don't ask me how that happened) and looks like a cross between a Vincent Price and Richard Belzer.

I'm gonna bust on her new BF...ie: "Casper the Friendly Ghost...!"

This may sound like childish behavior to some...but i'm ok with accepting my feelings for what they are (jealousy) and...i also ok with acting on them in a healthy way. Owning your feelings and extricating them in the most expedient fashion is a good for the soul. That means always being Real....! (for the so called PUA's out there).

Nah don't do that...That comment does not paint you in a good light . It comes off as a lttle b1tchy and it shows that you are pissed that she is dating another guy and not you.

Back to the first point. Why is she dating him ?
Nobody knows for sure , least of all HER. IF you asked her, she would give you standard, glib, cut and paste answers. "He is kind and sweet.." and so on.

However I have seen this same arrangement before many times..'HB recruites pasty dork for boyfriend'. Superficially at least, this relationship defies our conventional wisdom.
All you can surmise is that he is fulfilling some of her needs. My guess is that SHE has a strong need to be 'the Star' in their relationship and she does not want a guy who challenges her for the top position. She wants a guy who is below her in looks, market value, sex appeal .. he is more like a convenient accessory that a man, and he is safe. That guy is not likely to cheat or leave her. He will be grateful to be basking in her royal presence, and he will obey the Queen.. This is the way that some beta guys end up with hot women, and the way that some hot woman want it..
Notice how she flirted a little with you in front of him without a thought for his feelings. Not a great character sign, but a sure indication that she wants the freedom to do as she damn well pleases.

BY all means unleash some PUA tricks on her for your own entertainment, but remember that even if you snare her away from her 'boy friend' she is probably poor G/f material under the wrapping.

When you attack a Girl's boyfriend (his looks his values) you are attacking her taste in men. You're attacking what she seems attracted to and as far as you know, you're putting down what she genuinely likes in a guy. Calling the guy "casper" will put her in defense mode for her man and it'll make you look like a chump. "Oh my God what does she see in that loser? I'm better! I'm a better person all around!"

According to her you're not. Sometimes it pays to be a little humble . She's not going to see you as alpha if you're trying to run someone she loves down.

Excellent Psycho Analysis...

Yes....obviously she has little to no respect for this guy....or is clearly trying to fvck with him.

My Contrairian
No....will tease her about it. Lets see what's she's got to say. A little proding sometimes gets women to expose themselves. Not interested in her as a GF...more like a BC girl.

Dude, with that attitude you're not going to accomplish much. Take like 20 deep breaths before you meet her for business, do your business thing, don't bring up the new BF, and find yourself a shrink.

BTW, can anyone here point towards a thread that helps keep IL high in a relationship? The SEARCH feature on this site svcks.

The last guy I saw who "thought was alpha" came strutting into my dental office like he was "too cool for school". His wife had to fill out his paperwork because he"forgot his reading glasses"[well, he pulled them out to look at my x-ray when I told him he'd need to see a specialist to pull that tooth]. He then told me "If I had your tools I could pull it"[right, I've pulled a couple thousand, but HE can get this one]. Then he told me he had it loose for me"I took a wooden handled nutcracker and held it against the tooth and hit it with a hammer" He left thinking I'm a worthless dentist, because I didn't pull the tooth for him when HE wanted. NOW he thought he was ALPHA-I think he is a dumbazz.

Why are you so worried about this chick? Why do you feel the need to denigrate her BF?[I tell my son's it's always easier to tear someone else down than to build yourself up to compete,so don't listen to the loooosers trying to tear you down]. IF you were ALPHA like you think, she's not buying it-she probably thinks you are a dumbazz. Can't call you a DJ When you need to look for BF destroyers to game a woman[especially one who doesn't seem to want you-she had her chance once]

Who says she doesn't love him? I'm not getting defensive. Most guys here will tell you that knocking on a woman's own personal choice is going to leave here a tad miffed and at most downright insulted, leaving you seen as just another jealous meathead.

I got a story for you. My friend, who is very white and nerdy is currently dating a girl from Niger. He can't even begin to tell you the countless stories of other Nigerian guys AND American black guys always pulling the alpha bullsh!t move to get to his girlfriend. "Why are you with him? Look how scrawny he is he can't do nothin' for you baby". They get this on a constant daily basis. It only reinforces her belief that she really chose the right guy and that all the other dudes out there are just jealous and insecure of her pick. It also shows that they have good sexual chemistry and most guys who want to jump her instantly don't see that.

My advice would be to show her you more than just a guy who can call names and poke fun and someone's preference. She would see you more as your own man and not just some guy coveting a prize.

Just sayin.

1) You seem hellbent on proving that you are the "catch". Obviously you weren't a catch at the time (for her anyway) or her interest wouldn't have been low.

2) A TRUE alpha understands that women are a dime a dozen. He doesn't concern himself with a chick who doesn't want him.

LMFAO, for real.

Dude needs to upgrade to an Ipod of some sort already. :p

Anyway topic poster she's probably with that guy for one of the reasons Espi posted or perhaps she is a control freak and wanted to find a beta boy to boss around.

Some chicks desire to be the dominator in a relationship and seek out a weak male in order to live out that role since a real man won't put up with that for a minute.

She probably judged you as a man that would not have that and so moved on to the beta.

No real loss to you in that case.

If all it took was to be in shape and growl - "I'm alpha" - then there would be no need for this forum

If he tries to put her BF down, she gets to think[rightly so],he's still interested in me-I win. So, what part of the art of war are you referring to? The part where he burned his boats so there was no way for his men to retreat and they fought harder? And won the battle? Well, IF he spends his time insulting her taste in men leaving her no retreat-she will fight harder to justify her BF.Trying to argue with a woman who has her mind made up is a losing battle.

Instead, he needs to sneak an assasin in with his diplomatic corps, If he can't win with diplomacy,he has time to build his army;or use the assasin. He can ask her what she finds so facinating about her BF and find out she likes rich wimps who are BETA and let her run his life. He may have been in the special forces recovering from a gunshot injury[loss of weight, pale from the hospital][most truely deadly men don't learn to play word games]. You need to find out the why first. You may have read the book, but I don't think you understand it.
