"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

Hello to everyone, first time post, long time reader. I have been hanging out with my current friends for a long time now, 2-3 years. I recently got out of high school and currently looking for work now. My "friends" have no drive in life, selffish, always dependent on other people... and so on, but I'm not here to complain. Can you guys here give me some options on good places to meet quality people, people that have ambition.

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

I goto university now and theres plenty of people here with ambition.

My advice to you, based on personal experience is to seek post-secondary education. Most of the people in there have plans for the future, or at least know that they want to be doing something special. Besides you'll meet a LOT of people, some of them are bound to click with you.

Scan places where people show common interest with what you have interest in. If you enjoy drawing, painting, etc... goto an Art Museum. Like skiing? Go hit the slopes. There are many options. You just need to look what you have a passion for, and find others that follow.

red0devil, i know how you feel, i still hang out with those guys once in awhile when im bored. But as you said, they truly have no ambition/drive in life and are doing the exact same things they've been doing since h.s. except now theyre in college...
Unemployed and have not met any new friends on their own.

The places where you'll find ambitious ppl or ppl similar to you is mostly in college, or networking gatherings...such as job fairs.

I dont know if im being too mature or ambitious at my age but i still believe it's good to plan ahead. A lot of my close friends i talk to are ambitious and running their own lives, which i've met from my college. They're in their 20's and possibly 30's but i respect them and they respect me.

A lot of ppl in my age group are still like kids and waste their time, which mostly are unamitious or ppl who dont "get out there" and push their potential. that's why i find it hard to click with them because my mindset is that of a guy in his 20's.

as they say ..."alike minds meet in alike places"
