Women are more logical

I've been reading up on being right-brained and I've come across a couple of sites that basically say that women are more logical men are more intuitive. And it all makes sense now. Women on the whole are left-brained, men on the whole are right-brained. The left side of the brain controls the verbal abilities and works in a sequential order and the right brain is more spatial and intuitive.

This also explains why schooling favors women. It's because they are left-brained and men are right-brained.

I'm not going to write more tonight since I'm exhausted and have to wake up early tomorrow, but here's some sites I was reading this from. This goes against a lot of what this site says so I won't be surprised if I get flamed.

Ok... Even if women are more 'logical' in terms of thinking that doesnt mean that they aren't illogical in their decision making. Even if a mind thinks one way, if it is overcome with an emotion that contradicts their thoughts they will follow the emotion because it is more familliar to thier mind. And as we all can tell from casual interaction, women in general, follow emotion over logic. If they did follow logic over emotion then girls wouldn't get back together with ther cheating boyfriends because they would realise logically that if the boyfriend cheated once he is likley to do it again.

Why do you want to be rich?

All of that is driven by your emotions. ALL of our choices are dictated by emotion. Name 1 thing we do in life that isn't based on emotion. Anyone?

I agree with you, Diplomatic Lies, that both gendres are logical and emotional.

I’m not sure if you’re familiar with the Myers-Briggs personality types....which indicates that some people are predominantly ‘thinkers’ (usually men) while others are predominantly ‘feelers’ (usually women).

Just like you have stated, this is not to imply that either gendre is without logic or emotion….for everyone, both run simultaneously while processing information. But the big difference is how each of us relate the information we process, and thus how we interpret our experiences, and conclusions, etc.

‘Feeling’ types are more likely to interpret a given situation based on how it made them feel….where as ‘thinking’ types interpret a given situation on what it makes them think. The differences are often demonstrated when someone needs advice, for example… one person will respond with sympathy and compassion….the other will respond with facts and ‘logic’. This poses as the most typical and classic communication break down that can occur between men and women.


As for women being more logical as per this topic…..well, that’s the first I’ve heard of it. Whether women process their information with more logic or not – I don’t know - but I am willing to believe that most women fall into the ‘feeling’ category in how they subsequently relate that information.
