"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

Well the girl in my last post does want to go back to things like they were before she broke up with me. I know it is not possible to go back to the way things were but I think we still may be able to work things out. Now she told me she broke up with me because she got scared of being in a relationship. I talked to her best friend and she said that it was broke off because she was bored with me. No, maybe I am boring but who cares if she wants me back she will have to deal with it. I also figure she will do it again but that's life, I figure I might enjoy life while I got it. Now all of that is really useless information what I want to know if you think she will get pissed over is that I am going to tell her that I will not go out with her until April 1st. I am doing this because I want time to get other things in my life in order before I get back into a relationship. I just want to know what you think and what I should do. Thanks, Kegger

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

I'm afraid to be in a relationship.
Really means
I'm afraid to be in a relationship with you.

She would gladly date another guy who was the man she deserves. So you have got to shape up your game a little bit. K.

Date other women. Stop talking to her, she might forget whatever wussy things you used to do. And she'll start talking to you again. Then you just be more successful than before. Think of it as a second chance. Same thing happened with a girl I know. Things were great. Then all of the sudden I became a little too needy with her, didn't give her space. And BAM, she left me.

But later she talks to me, and says, "Let's forget what happened in the past and start over."

My case is similar but a bit different. I am sure of what happened, this new kid moved to school. She thought she could date him, she broke up with me to go after him, and he turned her down. I can not 100% know that for sure but from what I have heard and seen that is what happened. Now I feel I am going to give her a second chance because that is just who I am. Also another mistake I did was I gave her to much space, I just pretty much let her do her own thing while I did mine. I hung with my friends and let her come to me, I think that was part of the problem.
