Why are age gaps okay when the woman is significantly older?

Two examples: Olivia Wilde* and Sam Taylor Johson were largely reviled by both the press and public for hooking up with much younger men, saw their careers diminished, to the point of ruin in the latter's case... -Got a little giggle out of them hooking up with men decades their senior

-Then wished them all well, and got on with life


Dunno if any attempts to research this stuff scientifically has been conducted, nonetheless it wouldn't be surprising to learn that as, a species, we're hard-wired to experience revulsion at the sight of older women paired up with much younger men. On account of the fact that their prospects for producing offspring are pretty dismal

Porn is fantasy, therefore you'll find scenes depicting pretty much everything one can think of. Specifically to your point, the genre of mature men or old farts with young, so called 'barely legal' girls is quite entrenched.

As to real life, no matter the age gap, if any, there will be people disapproving of the relationship, so why care at all? Just live your own life.

Why is it like this?

Much of the outrage is from women’s projection. They are vindictive about the age gap relations they were in!

I’d love to give these whiners interviews with lie detector tests.

Question 1: when did you first do it?
Question 2: how old was the guy?
Question 3: what was the biggest age gap in your “relationships”?

We’d see the real deal.

In my experience significant age gaps can raise eyebrows regardless of whether the man or woman is the older one, but the man being older is more commonly seen as "normal." And anyway, both setups are pretty common in porn. So I find the whole premise of this thread a bit odd.
