"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

The girl I put on a pedastal then smashed down as I walked away with my dignity is supposedly struggling with my absence and no contact. I was an orbiter but now I'm free and happy for it to dedicate my time to people whom actually make the effort.

Unfortunately as she is part of the same friendship circle as I am, she has sent a chump (actually a really good friend) onto me. He is too much of a nice guy and keeps trying to persuade me to get back in touch with said girl. Heck, she even sent her boyfriend onto me eventhough I don't see how either has any jurisdication in this.

Needless to say I've not budge nor plan to. Problem now is if this starts to spread I may be pressured to make peace with the girl and everyone knows regardless how you reason with woman they will find a way to make it emotional, your fault and ground you to the ground.

What do I do? It is so ironic, to compare this so called girl whom at one stage was considered my 'best friend' has never initiated, never called to say hi etc is now going crazy. Yet on my otherhand is another HB whom actually messaged me the other day just to say sorry for not replying eventhough I let that conversation die out!

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

if they are really your friends, they should be able to accept and respect your decision to NC her. tell them that doing this is for the best, for both your sake.

Well considering she's still in your social circle, i would befriend her. I'm not saying becoming an orbiter or an emotional tampon, but treat her how would treat an ugly girl that you're not even interested in.

Meaning reply late to messages, be kinda boring, don't really invest much time into her etc..
Say you're not interested through your actions, not words.

While you're doing that, go for that other HB.

and i agree with you doctorj but NC is a bad look for when she's in your social group. Just treat her like a girl you're not interested in.
