"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

To the original poster I agree with what's been said so far about moving on and forgetting about him now. Treat this as a lesson.

I admit, I had doubts with my girlfriend when we started dating and felt like she was getting too serious too soon. I could have ended it all on this little whim, but I decided to keep it to myself and stick it out for a while. Soon enough my doubts disappeared and I ended up in the best relationship of my life.

In short, let this one go, but in future, try to give guys a chance and avoid acting so quickly on your whims and doubts.

"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

If you decide to move on good for you. If you in fact do want a second chance with him, then you have to put some effort into it beyond just apologizing. Another thing that can help an apology is to say you'll never do it again, and hold yourself to it. That's a real apology.

GRR, I did call him TWICE over the last few weeks to apologize and when I saw him out like last week, I tried to go up to him to ask him out and he got annoyed. Anyways, I took the hint but last night, I was out with some friends and he came into a neighborhood bar where I was sitting with my friends. I looked up, and he had this really sad, guilty look on his face looking up at me (I assume he felt bad for acting like a jerk last week) I looked up quickly and then looked away (I was obviously hurt). He went over by the band right near where I was standing and I grabed a barstool and faced the other way) I didnt want him to see me look upset (Last week, he put his arms around some ugly girl which really pissed me off) About five minutes later, he left..
