What to do when girl asks you for time

I was waiting for the train the other day and this HB8 came up to me and asked me what time it was. Like an idiot I told her the time and didn't say anything else. What is the best reply in this situation?

well, if she asked for time, could it be that she might be in the hurry somewhere, and might not have time to talk.

but if, she's not; "are we in the hurry somewhere"

that gives you an lead in to the conversation......

if you "sense" she's asking just to initiate a convo go like this:

hb: what time is it?

you: friday

hb: what? i asked you what time is it?????


(assuming she's smiling by now)

you: <c&f> yes i know, that. i was just telling you that friday would be a good day for you and i to get a cup of coffee </c&f>

I'd just tell her what time it is. If she sticks around maybe I'll comment on something i've noticed about something in the news, or some clever current event.

Opporutunity is always out there, I definately don't have to hit on every hot girl I see, so i might not even say anything other then just giving her the time.
