I was doing some thinking the other day about near death experiences and how close many people i know came to it. And then a distrubing thought hit me. What if i was in a LTR or i was married and my partner got into some form of an accident and got all disfigured in the face really bad or lost a limb, would i still want to be with her. And my answer to that question was no. I couldn't see myself staying with someone who i had to force myself to be attracted to. And what if that happens in a marriage, i couldn't be with someone like that for the rest of my life. I could remain friends with them though. What are your opinions on this, or what would you do if this happened to your partner. It makes me feel like a terrible person for feeling that way, but thats just the way i feel.

Do you remember the story about the guy who went to Iraq after marrying this girl, and a car bomb went off and his face was blown off but he survived, but he was so disfigured he's unrecognizable....basically his face is like melted wax.

Someone made a thread about it and we found out that the girl "stayed married" to him to get the media attention then got a divorce once the spotlight was off her....a true attention wh0re.

in my opinion i think that really we're still animals, so love does require attraction as well as interest. so i agree with you, i'd divorce her. but i would do it in a way so i don't get all this attention for being "steadfast" like that girl i just mentioned

Why waste your time thinking about something so remote that it will likely never happen? Why not spend the time taking up a new hobby or dreaming about something you haven't done yet.
