Too many guys treat dating as if every answer has already been written into a constitution and should be followed to the letter. For every bold, objective statement you make about dating, there are plenty of men whose experiences directly contradict or debunk it.
Yes, there is some truth to LMS, looksmaxxing, the struggles of online dating, marriage, avoiding first dinner dates, and so on. Furthermore, some of these principles can be useful as general guidelines, especially for men who are inexperienced and need a basic framework to work from. However, some of you guys take these ideas way too far. You turn general principles into absolute laws and then refuse to acknowledge the enormous amount of nuance and individual circumstances that exist in dating.
Unfortunatel, it’s ****ing sad to see a 30 plus year old man with nothing to show for himself except a lay count still following the same training wheel principles that are supposed to help novices navigate the dating world. At some point, you have to take the training wheels off. You should be developing your own judgment, learning from your experiences, and understanding that what works for one man may not work for another.
That said, I do believe there are some foundational principles that every man should strive for. You should be physically and mentally healthy, on the right track financially, have hobbies and personal goals, and most importantly, not allow women or anyone else to take advantage of you. I do not give two flying ****s if there are guys who can point to exceptions and debunk those principles. Those are still objectively good things to pursue.
The point is that dating should be treated more like driving.
Yes, there are rules you have to follow. You have to understand the fundamentals, know what the signs mean, follow the laws, and avoid doing stupid **** that puts yourself and others in danger. However, once you actually get on the road, you are constantly making subjective decisions based on the circumstances in front of you. You judge traffic, weather, road conditions, other drivers, timing, and countless other variables.
Dating is much the same way. There are foundational principles worth understanding, but there is no constitution that dictates exactly how every interaction, relationship, or situation should be handled. Furthermore, becoming competent at dating means eventually learning how to make your own judgment calls instead of constantly looking for someone else to tell you what the correct move is.
Learn the rules. Understand why they exist. Then develop enough experience and judgment to know when they actually apply.
