"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

Was this the correct way to act?

I'm 21 years old, just for info. So, I fell in love with this girl about 8-9 months ago, we lived together for a few months, long story short, we don't anymore. However, we have the same friends and I'm bound to see her around. Last night I saw her with this guy she was interested in and I saw her kissing him(i ignored her the whole evening, because there's a reason she's my ex), and my friend said she was looking at me mostly, not the dude :D Now, I assume that she wanted a reaction from me and I thought I was going to feel hurt, but I didn't feel anything. Usually I would be pissed, hurt, depressed and all the other stuff that goes with it, but I was just my casual (a little bit drunk) self. Talked with friends, didn't look at him and her(i was bound to get a glimpse of them kissing eventually and she seemed pretty happy and I was fine with it actually, few months ago I would have been so pissed off.) The guy is a "guy with no future" really. He's just incredibly handsome and knows his way around women, but what do I care. So was this the right way to go? It just came to me so naturally I didn't really want to do anything, basically, I didn't give a ****.:D

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

You made a long as post about a woman "you dont care about" and then ask if you handled it correctly. Obviously she got to you because if you really didn't care, you would have just went about your business.

At least you showed no public signs of weakness. Ultimate indifference is the key. Once you get to that point, then you will have true power.

Best of luck

You absolutely "acted" right. Indifference is the best approach.

As a practical matter, what else could you do? Nothing. It's not like you're going to stare at them making out like some voyeur creeper lol.

Just go about your business and talk to your buddies and/or other women.
