"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

i've met this 42 cute blonde on facebook, we talked a lot and she saw my pics and said she liked what she saw. she's a single mother, has 2 kids (13 a and 16), so i know this has no future and i have no intention of escalating. it may be a great opportunity for sex.

we exchanged cellphone # and later today out of the blue, she texted me two times, one with a random letter P, which comes from my first name Paulo and another one, saying sorry for the first one, that it wasnt meant to be sent.

was this an honest mistake from her or just trying to get my attention. i didnt reply. i think i will wait maybe a day or two more and call her so i can hear her voice and maybe ask her out on a date.

what do you guys think? my gut is telling me that its she trying to playing hard to get or to see how i react.

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Could be genuine mistake, could be attention seeking. Either way, not really worth dwelling on. Just ask her out next week

one major red flag is that during the convo i told her that i had a car, and she asked me what car do i have. i told her a 1995 Ford Fiesta ( i like old cars and this car specially, because it was given to me by my late father) and her reply was: that's where i learned to drive.

i didnt like the question nor the answer, and now that i think about it her IL may have dropped after that.

Ha, nice one man! That was my first car. They're good little motors. Ended up with about 100-odd thousand miles on the clock, even though I treated it really badly.

All things considered, I'm not sure she's all that bothered (about the car that is). My mates and I saw some 9/10 bird getting picked up in a beaten-up mark 2 Golf the other day. We did decide that may be she was a high-class brass or summat, but my mate asked what perfume she was wearing, she said Fend!. What kinda dolled-up, 9/10 bird who wears Fend! gets in to a mark 2 golf with some hobo looking geezer? One that is off to get laid, right.

I digress; but my point also lies herein. I don't think her IL is dropping, in fact she seems to be trying to maintain it, by making small talk. Steer clear of the mundane and day to day conversation, that you might have with your mates for example. What do women need? Drama and fantasy. They talk absolute BS amongst each other and they seem to appreciate a guy who can get involved in that. No gossip, mind. I like to make up/remember random unusual facts that is going to get the convo going (away from the 'what do you do for a living' scenario).

Remember to keep it sexual on occasion too.... 'The '95 Fiesta, may be old, but still small and mighty!' Plants several seeds of, suggestion, self-deprecation, but also your prowess/stamina in her mind.

Remember the lock and key code:

Text one: stimulate emotion (especially happiness and joy)
Text two: stimulate imagination of bonding and future meeting (with you)
Text three: stimulate imagination of future sexual encounter (with you)
