The only good ones that I've seen from 2004 until now are the Dawn of the Dead remake and Shaun of the Dead if you count that as horror.

The horror genre has gone to complete sh**.

You rarely see any really scary horror movies. Most of them are just zombie-hackfests, or psychological thrillers.

The Ring was a good one. The Eye is also ok, its a recent HK/Chinese release.

Erotic ghost story on the other hand, is just weird...

The ring was great.

The ring 2 was still a decent movie, but in no way scary.

I must say I enjoyed the horror, the girls and the gore in both of Texas Chainsaw Masarcre (Remake) and House of Wax (also a remake?).
They have very similar story lines, so it probably best watching them a few months apart.

But I thoughrally enjoyed both.

I'm eagerly awaiting the new Silent Hill movie. Playing those games are the best horror experience I can recall.

However, I quite liked The Grudge. It's not the most gripping plot, but very unsettling and creepy.

The original Ring is actually a very complex movie. It is about American culture invading and destroying Japanese culture with television. The movie's logo and the well cover sliding over the well top symbolize the flag of Japan.

+ they couldn't have a square shaped well and call it "the square" it just wouldn't sound as good.
