"The Kiss of Death Mistake"

You replay the conversation at 2 a.m. She texted back fast yesterday. Today, nothing. Was that smile friendly or flirty? What did the shoulder touch mean?

Every hour you spend decoding her signals drains your confidence and hands her the controls. Women can sense that insecurity from across the room — and it repels them.

One of the "22 Rules" kills the obsession on the spot: assume she likes you, and act accordingly. Sounds too simple. Works anyway.

Her interest tends to rise to meet your expectations. Psychologists call it a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Hi There Folks,

I'm really not into online dating because the possibility of coming across even flakier women is so high and often times, people aren't who they say they are. Nonetheless, in the past few months, I've been taking a chance and posting some personal ads just for fun. Recently, a woman contacted me and I'm starting to get very worried and scared that she might be a potential stalker. Not only doesn't she respond to my specific questions, every e-mail she writes to me reads like a four to five page paper. We haven't even met yet and she already talks about how she thinks I'm the perfect match for her, we share a lot in common and she would like to be my future queen and wife.

It scares me to death and I have just recently decided to stop responding to her because she seems to me like the type who might be a little psychotic. She says she has had lots of heartbreaking experiences with the opposite sex just like me, but her disappointment with men in general reads to me as if she won't tolerate much of any mistakes from whoever may become her next mate and she might be the kind who could even kill depending on the circumstance. She said she ran into her ex-boyfriend a long time ago having sex in their living room with her best friend and that just did it for her.

To illustrate better what I'm talking about here, I have cut and pasted some of her recent messages to me below for you guys to see what's scaring me a whole lot about the way this woman's coming across, at least to me. Here we go:

1) " Honey (we've never met, never talked) in me you are going to find a woman that was blessed with an over abundance of passion to give to the ones I share my heart and soul with. For you to really know me you will have to experience me, as the love that makes up my heart is like a waterfall, where the water never stops flowing down. In this case my heart is the waterfall, and the love and passion that flows endlessly is representing the water. I am a very unique person for many reasons, but one of those is the fact that I can never get enough of romancing that special someone."

"Thank you again for giving me the opportunity to build this special friendship with you!. You will be rewarded for it through the passionate love that makes up my heart and soul!. I am so excited to be able to do what I do best and that is romance you with all the passion that makes up my heart and soul!. My special friendship with you is something I want to make permanent and eventually build into a family to call our very own!
Directly from my heart to yours!
Your Future Queen! (I hope!)
(I don't even know her). "

2) "You are really amazing.Inside of me there is a place where my sweetest dreams reside, where my highest hopes are kept alive, where my deepest feelings are felt and where my favorite memories are safe and warm. I find that you're on my mind more often than any other thought. Sometimes I bring you there purposely just to make my day brighter. But more often, you surprise me and find your own ways into mythoughts. There are even times when I awaken, I realize that you've been a part of my dreams. Then during the day, when my imagination is free to run, it takes me into your arms and allows me to linger there knowing there's nothing I'd rather do. (Whoa!) I know my thoughts are only reflecting the loving hopes of my heart because whenever they wander, they always take me to you. Only the most special things in my world get to come inside my heart and stay. And now, I realize how deeply my life has been touched by you."

"I miss you." (What???)

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

she probably has most of this stuff in Word documents and pastes them into her messages to all her matches. Doesn't mean much, except that she's really weird. I doubt that she's seriously obsessed with you specifically.

is she good-looking?

She's whacked...don't meet her.

That is so obviously a cut and paste letter that she's sending to many guys. Women don't usually do that, either. Something is not quite right with her...she is either horribly desperate or a dude pretending to be a woman because it's typically men who fire off those one size fits all copy and paste messages.

Re: I Suspected Something Wasn't Right

Thanks, guys. I smelled something fishy...I just could suspect something wasn't quite right. I'm going to block her e-mail address as soon as I can. I won't be surprised if it's a guy. It's happened to me before, where a guy once sent me a woman's picture as an attachment and then not too long after, some gay guy e-mailed me as well. How interesting that they both knew my e-mail address at right about the same time. That's the risk with online dating and why I generally prefer to stay away. People can pretend to be anything they want and gay males often tend to be the bulk of men who pretend to be women on the internet and proceed to harass heterosexual men who prefer not to have anything to do with them.

The person sent me a picture as an attachment but the woman in it just looked a bit too good looking in my opinion to be taking online personal ads so seriously or to be obsessed with a particular individual. And if it truly is the real person, I'll still avoid her either way because she definitely sounds like she has some personal issues. It's unbelievable.

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

This woman is one of the following:

1) A nutcase
2) Works for Hallmark
3) A person (possibly male) initiating a love scam

I would almost put money on #3. The stuff she wrote is likely cut n' paste from a stored document. People who run love scams tend to make the other "fall in love" with them, and then ask them for money.

I'd meet her in a public place, make sure she is not a guy, and if she's cute then take her somewhere and bang the living snot out of her, but that's just me. Make sure she does not know your real name, phone number, where you work, or where you reside.
