One bad thing about confidence is that you have to repeat that terrible step that made you a bit more confident over and over again.
I was diving from a high board at the swimmingpool. First times I was like "man what if this whole thing goes wrong and I never learn it?" However I learned to dive by repeating it again and again that day. I dived a lot of times.
The next few times when I was at the swimmingpool I thought "I'll dive the next time or something." Two weeks later when I wanted to dive I was right at the beginning thinking "what if this goes wrong?"
These days every time I go to the swimmingpool I dive so many times like I'm an idiot. Every gap I can find I dive. If I stop doing it I will be right back at the beginning. Like I haven't learned anything.
So remember that when you want to become confident you have to keep doing confident things over and over again.
Think of George McFly in Back to the Future. First time he hit Biff he was confident after that. However that confidence was very short because when another guy forced Lorraine to dance at the Enchantment Under the Sea dance he was reluctant to do something about it. After he pushed that guy from Lorraine he stayed confident his whole life getting more out of life for the rest of his life.
Confidence is a positive feedback system. Do more and more confident things to get more confident. Also be more confident to do more things that take (more) confidence.
*--> be more confident -----> take chances/risks -----> be more confident -----> take chances ---*
additional information: this is a two cycles loop and the two *'s is one point to close the loop.
