Understandably most men here won't be regularly approached by smoking hot Japanese waitresses, but this scene serves as a great case study in picking up on subtle indicators of interest (IOIs)

Hot women are rarely direct in their interest in the beginning. Off the top of my head these are some of the common IOIs that come to mind:

- Positioning themselves close by in a bar or social setting
- Sticking around longer than five minutes after you initiate conversation
- Starting ANY kind of conversation with you
- Willingness to be alone with you
- Touching

Point is, being able to pick up on social cues is half the way to victory in this game.

A lot of guys would have missed out on what she was really saying, interpreting it as a waitress being polite, and said "Yes thanks". And that would have been the end of it. Don picks up on her underlying message and his response forces her to elaborate. It's only then that her intentions are made less ambiguous.

That's the main reason those signals get ignored, not because they are so subtle. They are easy to read, but hard to reply, when you are AFC

What restaurant would allow you to sit there for a long time without spending any money? They would kick you out in 3 min.
