Got this through e-mail today.

**************

The following is from a 1950's home economics textbook intended for high school girls, teaching them how to prepare for married life:

1. Have dinner ready: Plan ahead, even the night before, to have a delicious meal — on time. This is a way of letting him know that you have been thinking about him, and are concerned about his needs. Most men are hungry when they come home and the prospects of a good meal are part of the warm welcome needed.

2. Prepare yourself: Take 15 minutes to rest so you will be refreshed when he arrives. Touch up your makeup, put a ribbon in your hair and be fresh looking. He has just been with a lot of work-weary people. Be a little gay and a little more interesting. His boring day may need a lift.

3. Clear away the clutter. Make one last trip through the main part of the house just before your husband arrives, gathering up school books, toys, paper, etc. Then run a dust cloth over the tables. Your husband will feel he has reached a haven of rest and order, and it will give you a lift, too.

4. Prepare the children: Take a few minutes to wash the children's hands and faces if they are small, comb their hair, and if necessary, change their clothes. They are little treasures and he would like to see them playing the part.

5. Minimize the noise: At the time of his arrival, eliminate all noise of washer, dryer, dishwasher or vacuum. Try to encourage the children to be quiet. Be happy to see him. Greet him with a warm smile and be glad to see him.

6. Some Don'ts: Don't greet him with problems or complaints. Don't complain if he's late for dinner. Count this as minor compared with what he might have gone through that day.

7. Make him comfortable: Have him lean back in a comfortable chair or suggest he lie down in the bedroom. Have a cool or warm drink ready for him. Arrange his pillow and offer to take off his shoes. Speak in a low, soft, soothing and pleasant voice. Allow him to relax and unwind.

8. Listen to him: You may have a dozen things to tell him, but the moment of his arrival is not the time. Let him talk first.

9. Make the evening his: Never complain if he does not take you out to dinner or to other places of entertainment; instead, try to understand his world of strain and pressure, his need to be home and relax.

10. The goal: Try to make your home a place of peace and order where your husband can relax.

Apperently there is a revised 2006 edition floating around:

1. Have a microwave dinner ready for him after you done your day of shopping and spending lots of money on cloths and makeup while hiding that fact from him. If you are too tired then tell him to go to the kitchen and prepare dinner for you and the kids as well. After all he is a man and after a tired day in the office he CAN DO MORE!

2. If you are tired then eat before he comes and go take a nap. He will come back from work in a bad mood, tired and hungry. Its the perfect time to go to him and nag him to death about stuff that needs to be fixed, stuff he needs to do, and how boring and sad your job was all day.

3. Scream and yell at the kids to clean up the mess or hire a cleaning lady to that. You are much too tired from work and shopping to even bother.

4. Tell the kids to go watch t.v ,to be quiet and leave you alone.

5. Remember to nag him when he is tired so he will just give up and give you what you want. As well blab on the phone in front of him with your best girlfriend as he eats!

6. Complain each time he is late for dinner no matter his excuse. Also complain that you do too much around the house and he does nothing.

7. After dinner, order him around to do the dishes. As he sits down to relax to watch t.v, start nag him about his other chores he needs to do. Then nag him to death if he watches sports because you don't like it and prefer to watch "Desperate housewives".

8. Make sure he listens to you and don't let him interrupt. Argue with him on each logical point he tries to make because he just doesn't understand you.

9. Nag him that he doesn't take you out anywhere and doesn't spend money on you. As punishment withold sex and send him to sleep on the couch in the livingroom.

10. The Goal: Try to make your home a place for peace and order where you can relax.

You killed me on this one ::D
Its funny cause its true. I remember in the past I went on a few dates where in the middle of the dinner where we had a good conversation, her cellphone rings and she decides to pick up the phone and blab for like 10-15 mins talking to one of her friend's. Then after I finish eating and I have an empty plate in front of me and I am pissed, she finishes the conversation and has the audicity to tell me "sorry about that, now where were we?" in which case I tell her " well I am done, where is the bill??"

Imagine things like that in a marriage.

It's indeed funny, because it's true. It's always the same: attention seeking & lack of respect.

The first time my ex-gf did this to me, I told her immediately after her call: "Listen when I'm with you, this means I'm freeing time to be with you. You have your gfs & you want to call: no problem, but do this when I'm not with you".

After that, her phone kept on ringing when I was with her, but phone calls never lasted longer than 2 mins "Hi yes, I'm fine, but my bf is here now, I'll call you later".

From my experience, women are mostly dumb if you do not tell them explicitely what is wrong: telling them "well I'm done", will leave them without knowing why you were done.

****y & funny works too: while she's talking on the phone interrupt her by asking: "My presence is not disturbing your phone call I hope?"

-good luck.

yep you are right. The audicity of it all can reach its boiling point where if you try to talk to them while they are on the cell phone, they end up scoffing at you: "why are trying to interrupt me??" - well what do you call it when they call you and you stop our conversation to talk to them?? Show some respect to the person you are with.

LOL. I actually now use something very similar: "I have to appolgoize to you, if I knew you wanted to talk to your friend I should have invited her to dinner with us"

One chick I was dating a few years ago - it's date # 3 - and to be honest it's not going as well as I would have hoped - and I figure that I'm not going t0o be dating her very long. She had this anoying habit of repeating herself and telling me the same story again and again. She also complained about her job a lot - and to be honest, I don't like - if she's complaining about things to me on date 3 - it's only going to get worse.

So on this date we went and played pool. We'd finished playing - then went to the bar area to get a drink and sit down. I get the drinks, we sit down and her cell goes off. She starts talking and talking. it's aparently her 'gay' guy friend -= like I care. so I finish my drink - she's still talking - so I get up and just walk out - get into my truck and drive home. I don't know if she thought I went to the restroom - but she didn't follow me.
