Why "Whatever You Want" Keeps You Single

She says the movie looks dumb; you suddenly agree. She tests you with a little attitude; you apologize for nothing.

You think you're being easy to get along with. She reads something else entirely: a man with no edges. Nothing to hold on to. No friction, no tension, no reason to wonder what he really thinks.

The "22 Rules" taught me to push back — playfully, calmly, without needing her approval. Strange things happened after that.

What i'm going to share with you to today is what i believe to be the largest misconception revolving around self improvement (and therefore, seduction). It's the problem of 'perfection'. Everyone's trying to be perfect.

What's wrong with being perfect?

It's impossible.

Your trying to do something that CAN NOT be done. This way your setting yourself up to fail before you even begin. Think about it. How many times have you woken up and thought "tomorrow is my day that i start living". Yet you don't. You might do a couple of things that you don't normally do but at the end of the day you see that approach doesn't work and you give up. Then a week later you try the same thing, the cycle continues, and ultimately you achieve absolutely nothing.

People ussually have an image in their mind, wether they know it or not, of what the perfect day is. It probably revolves eating perfectly to your diet, going to the gym and putting in your maximum effort, approaching 3 girls in the one day, getting all your homework done, etc etc etc. Seriously, who's going to get all that done when the day before all they did was jack off and watch TV. The worst part of all is it involves self-discipline, theres noone there yelling at you to do it. You have never forced yourself to do these things before - why would you start now?

In order to find the solution we have to look at the 2 factors which make up a succesfull day. Firstly, there's the actual physical tasks that would fulfill you, like doing your homework, talking to that girl you want to bang, etc. Secondly, there's the amount of effort you put in.

At this stage, everyone has been focused on the first factor. They have looked at the tasks which needed to be done to attain success and they write it all down (or keep it in their head, people even do this without noticing) and they think the effort will just come.

So here's the new approach, rather then focusing on WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE start focusing on the EFFORT YOU ARE PUTTING IN. Focus on the effort and you will naturally do the tasks that fulfill you. It's allready in your head what you have to do, the only thing you need to do conciously is put in the effort!

So the solution? Consistency.

Do your best.

Wake up in the morning and try and get up at 6:30, can't do it? dont give up! (You would have allready given up at this stage if you where focusing on the tasks and 'perfection'). Get up when you can and eat a good meal. Get down to school on time and try your best to talk a little more than your used to, just keep trying! Never stop trying! The second you stop trying is the second you accept your mediocrity.

For example, if you keep trying to go to the gym, you will eventually get a good thing going! Originally you wouldnt be able to do it, you would get there once or twice a week, but you would keep trying and in a month or two you are going 4 times a week, eating perfectly, and staying fit. You look great! Just by putting in effort.

Another example, you keep trying to improve your seduction attempts. You get a formulated pick up plan and then you **** up and dont even approach. Then you give up and claim 'i cant approach!!!'. If you keep trying, every single day to approah a girl, in a week or two you will make your first approach, and then... the rest is history.

This whole thing about perfection is peoples attempt to organise life, to try and make something incontrollable controlled, you cant do this! Change is coming and all you can do is keep on keeping on, life cant be organised.

I leave you with an extremely inspirational quote.

"Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a lion or a gazelle-when the sun comes up, you’d better be running."– Source Unknown

Take care ladies ;)

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

I like the main thrust of your post- perfection is the goal an idiot would come up with. Perfection is a concept, like infinity. We can have a concept of it, but we cannot imagine it.

Hell, we can't imagine it so how would we become it?
So far, so great.

However, do your best?

That doesn't sit well with me, and I'll explain why. "Doing your best" implies that you have a limit. It implies that you can do all you can and not succeed. However, this is assuming the fatal falsity that we are an unchanging person. Please! If anyone has learnt anything from this site it's that your limits go up as you make yourself better.

I like to think of it as this site being the elevator that takes you up to your job interview. It's up to you how high you go up.

I think it's a lot better to go for something tangeble and attainable. The gazelle wants to survive, and it will do or it will die. That it did its best is a moot point, it either succeeded or failed in its attainable goal. We should learn to grab a goal and go for it, because otherwise, as you said, we'll just be going round in circles. If you do your best and fail, it's because the you of that moment wasn't good enough. Time is the only thing that can rob you of your right to another go, so slip another credit in the machine and make sure the next time you get into winning time you're at the right floor, so to speak.

As i stated in my original post, time ARE changing and that's a fact. This is why you can't 'organise' life. Doing your best this very moment with your current capabilities is how you break your limits, how else do you set your limits higher if you dont 'do your best'. Also, this post has assumed that people haven't found their limits as they are, therefore they can't expand them until they know what they are. 'Do your best' at any given moment is the only way to improve, sure you will fail at some things, but if you keep doing your best thing will start changing as your limits do.

All one can do is try

Well the gazelle that did live, was 'doing its best'.

Mmmm, yeah I'm with you now. I overlooked the great advice you're giving about going with intuition above stubborn dogma, shunning stagnation and embracing fluidity. "Do your best" is a phrase I don't like probably becasue it has been bastardised as an excuse for failure. If you are acting with balls, thought, direction, and energy in every moment, "doing you best" removes barriers instead of creating one to protect against failure.

Thoroughly great advice that:)

It probably wasn't the best phrase I could have used.

It does have a certain "You wount succeed, but you might as well do your best" feel to it.

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

some post dude! all i've got to sort out in my head is my studying and your post totally clicks. everyday i write down the stuff i need to cover. ok, i manage to do the stuff i wrote down, but not with nearly enough effort.

also sammon, it seems like every post i read from you says "and fvckin well get up at 6.30 and eat a good meal". this is such a good idea, considering the fact that i woke up at 1 today (well, shaggin from 11-1, but i'm still only really up at 1). 6.30 the mora
