Just think how many more people are attractive today due to orthodontic therapy when they were children or adolescents. Without orthodontics, these people would grow up ugly or average.

This is the MAIN REASON (not cosmetic surgery) why there are alot more good-looking women (and men) today than there were say 35 years ago and earlier. Orthodontists not only correct your crooked teeth and bad bite, but can manipulate your upper and lower jaws to grown evenly and correctly. Facial bone discrepancies in the upper/lower jaws are the reason for most facial unattractiveness.

I had a bad overbite when I was a kid and it if were not for orthodontics, I would still have spaced teeth, a bad bite and a very, very recessed chin..hence I would of been ugly.

As with plastic surgery that is a short fix. Sure you will look great, but your offspring will still have your 'ugly' genes.

That is a good question. I got my overbite and weak chin from my mom. She never got hers fixed, but I got mind fixed. Will my kids get that overbite?

Unless you mutated your DNA to change your overbite, your offspring will have parts of your DNA. Even though people spend loads of money on plastic surgery etc to get them looking tip-top, their genes are still the same and they keep on passing on the 'ugly' genes. Before the day of plastic surgery natural selection made sure that only the good genes got passed on (men married the hottest chicks, and stayed the fvck away form UGs).

So basically, the worlds population are getting more and more ugly since the ugly chicks can 'fix' their ugliness with some quick surgery.

FYI, having an offspring with someone that is a different 'race' (different immum-system, DNA variations) than yours increases the chances of having a good looking offspring.

Good points, but Orthodontics is not considered surgery.

I remember thinking the same thing when that reality show was on a while back. I think it was called "The Swan".
Where these heinous looking broads had all these plastic surgeons work on them for the course of a few months.
Some of the results were pretty impressive. But at the time I thought it would be pretty pointless because their kids would still be pretty uggo.

Natural selection won't weed out all the ugs because ugs will mate with other ugs.

Yea, true but then your "ugly" offspring can just get surgery as well.

Do a google search for "Orthognathic Surgery" and see the before and after pics. These results are amazing. Seems if your jaws and teeth are in relationship with one another, and you have a decent nose....almost anyone can be semi-attractive.

Well, somehow Micheal Jackson's kids managed to turn out white. Somehow. Assuming they weren't artificially inseminated from a white guy and raised as his own...a BIG assumption.
