I got a new outfit i think looks fantastic. I can easily rock it on a sunny day, at the beach, whatever.

I've got a nice pair of burnt orange Express shorts (they look better than they sound) and a sleeveless tee (tank). It's not like a wife beater or a thin douchebag YOLO graphic tee. It's more the skater/hipster style with the woven in fake pocket thing.

I have a really great build, nice arms, strong back/shoulders very cut and look ****ing good in it.

Looks like these: except it's different shades of dark green:

My question is: can I rock this while going bar hopping in my town while the weather is nice? Or is it too beachy/douchey? These are not upscale clubs, most college kids just wear shorts and a tee.

If you have a great build and the tank tops are fitted somewhat, then I say go for it. But it has to be appropriate for the places youll be hanging out at. And weather appropriate as well. If its a summer shore type bar, youll look fine. If its a bar inside town or inside a city, then I feel its too casual and will look douchey if you are trying to bag chicks.

And by too casual, I mean itll look like you dont give a damn about how you dress. And many guys here will tell you that dressing well helps with women. If you wanna show of your figure at the bar, just rock fitted shirts. No need to rock tanks unless you are just chilling outside or at the beach or boardwalk.

But then again, wear whatever you want. If you think you look boss in the outfit, then have it at dude.

Yea screw it. I'm slowly starting to not care like I used to about what people think about what I wear. I was the kid in high school that didn't buy different or cool clothes because i was afraid i'd get mocked.

I've never really worn tanks before so I gonna start trying em. My build is similar to the black dude in the 2nd pic, but a bit bigger. I guess my concern that people (read:girls) would think i'm just trying to show off muscle and that would decrease their attraction.

IF you are going to wear a tanktop, fill it out properly. You need to have big arms, lots of volume and a big chest to look big in it.
Actually wearing a wifebeater shirt in general makes you look somewhat "bad boy" in the eyes of most chicks. Just last week when I was wearing my tank 6 teenage girls approached me and asked me if I had any tattoos.

Wearing one of these bad boys combined with a huge chest/arms will get every girl within a 1 mile radius wet:

Erm, I don't think you'll find 1 girl in 50 who actually likes that roided-up, veins-popping, 22" bicep look.

In fact, study after study shows that women actually like skinnier guys:

http://www.livescience.com/25079-females-prefer-thin-over-macho.html

(If you want more links to other studies, I can provide them. The study above basically says that women do not look at facial or body masculinity, they look only at facial fatness -- the less facial fat the better. And if you're bulking up, you're going to have extra facial fat.)

So I always wonder why guys bulk up. Latent homosexuality? Though I do admit that skinny guys in wife beaters look ridiculous.

I've always believed that if you're active and healthy, your body will be attractive to women. When you get to the extremes -- either too fat or too skinny or too muscular -- then women get turned off.

I never claimed his body was the "ultimate chick magnet", I meant the tank he's wearing. It's perfect if you have the arms and chest to pull it off.

Research has proven that women do prefer skinny guys for LTR, but masculine men for sex. Attraction and muscle mass/facial masculinity doesn't scale linear, but I wouldn't say his body here is "too big". Women will get wet left and right over him:

If you honestly believe women only care about facial fatness and not facial features/muscle mass, then you are clueless. Especially considering that the guy I linked has a BF of 6-7% whilst on gear. If girls were only attracted to how much fat you had on your body, then Christian Bales physique in the Machinist would be the optimal body.

Sorry to disappoint you, but the Auschwitz physique you vouch for isn't competitive in todays society. Neither is the 300 lbs bodybuilder. Somewhere in between, say 6'3 215 lbs 7% BF. Problem is that isn't attainable without drugs..

that looks douchy as hell, if you are that big its redundant to wear stuff like that, you would look cooler and more mysterious wearing regular fitting clothing instead of looking like you need everyone to look at you, but then again any guy who would jack himself up on thousands of dollars worth of steroids, hgh, and other useless supplements is obviously a psychopath, how many cycles do you think you would have to do to look like that

in my humble opinion, tank tops and muscle shirts always look trashy and douchy unless you really have a really relaxed vibe more like a surfer/hippie/stoner

Nice study, thanks for posting!

The thing is, 6'3 215 with 7% BF is not "moderately muscular" per the study. That would be quite muscular with excellent definition. Not that it would be unattractive, but I don't think it would be "moderate" in any sense of the word.

The study asked women to rate men as "brawny," "built," "skinny," etc. It did not use any objective measurements. I have a suspicion that women would rate a thin but defined guy as "muscular" whereas the average meathead here would rate him as "skinny."
