completely move on and start dating someone else?

wait around and work on other life issues while she takes care of her own life issues?

If she says she wants to take a break that means she doesn't want to be with you anymore, but it's still convinient for her to hold you as a backup. When a girl says she wants a break, just dump her completely and say next, I think we will be unanimous about this.

Dump her, move on. Breaks are nothin but a annoying occurence that you should not tolerate.

Turn around and fucking walk the other direction. It's the quickest way to either:

A. Snap her ass right back into line with you in control.

-or-

B. Give you a head start at moving on.

It's hard to give you any advice without much context.


Assuming that it was your girls idea "to take a break"

The first thing you should do is agree with her and don't act like it's a big deal.

Tell her what your definition of a break is i.e. seeing other people, no contact etc

Then, stop all contact with her, keep busy on whatever terms you have given her. She will contact you when's she's ready. At which point you can decide whether you want to keep her or not. Take back your power.

Her interest level in you must have dropped somewhere along the lines such that she needs to shyt test you one last time before dumping you like a big pile of poo.

If you really want her back, you need to demonstrate your detachment, this will raise her IL with you. Don't act like a wuss.
