Stop stuffing the bible with crap!

I have nothing agains Nicholas. He's put lots of effort into the bible and deserves a monument for that.

But:

I remember when 2 years ago I came to this site, while there was still the old forum. When I read the bible it was compact, relatively short and informative.

All of the posts were of superb quality. There were no unneeded blabbering.

As I look at it now, I see tons of links from the "new forum". It seems that any post except "what do I do on the 1st date?" gets into the bible.

I think the current edition of the bible needs some cleaning.

yea, i agree. some of the items arent even bible material and although its not bad stuff, some are just informal in its format and is repeating the other stuff thats already there. its too repetitive.

I understand what you're feeling.

But because the "DJ Bible" is a compilation of contributions from many diffrent authors, there's always going to be varying degrees of incompleteness, contradiction and redundancy.

The "DJ Bible" is a great resource for newcommers to this site, however in larger scheme of things it should be used as only a supplement to real life experience.

I don't know what you mean about the bible getting bulkier. Since taking over the Bible a year ago, I have added about TEN articles altogether. That's TEN, not a hundred.

Please don't complain about the new/old forum links. It will take 40 hours to correct the whole lot, and no-one's paying me to update the bible, so I think that I'd rather invest said time in macking on chicks, spending a few minutes each week keeping the bible in nice enough condition.

Very few articles make it into the bible. It is a beginners guide and reference manual. It is not the epitamy of perfection.

I'm still amazed at the number of people who give their critical "thoughts" without lifting a finger.

i too think its time for an update of the bible but when i have the time (which probably is when im dead) then ill submit some major input to get the page updated

until then put up or shut up

I created an e-book in CHM format titled "The Best of DJism" with a few of my own articles as well , but I will not dare share it with anyone until the intelligence of this community as a whole is equivalent to or higher than the level of intelligence of the 2001 DJ community.

One of the formatting problems I find with the DJ Book is that it is unorganized with too many graphics.
