"The Kiss of Death Mistake"

You replay the conversation at 2 a.m. She texted back fast yesterday. Today, nothing. Was that smile friendly or flirty? What did the shoulder touch mean?

Every hour you spend decoding her signals drains your confidence and hands her the controls. Women can sense that insecurity from across the room — and it repels them.

One of the "22 Rules" kills the obsession on the spot: assume she likes you, and act accordingly. Sounds too simple. Works anyway.

Her interest tends to rise to meet your expectations. Psychologists call it a self-fulfilling prophecy.

longtime non-member lurker here. i was always impressed with the quality of the Mature Man section and all the wisdom i've seen here.

I just recently finished my 3rd year of teaching English in Korea and am now back in the US. What can I say but that it totally changed my life? i didn't date in high school or college (so you can guess what the sex life must've been like), but after just 3 months in Korea, I was already meeting, dating, and having sex with girls. I was also just out of college and felt like I was raking in the dough with my 2K/month salary. (To be fair, though, COL is much lower in Korea and they paid for my apartment and airfare.)

Now that I'm back in the US, I'm yearning to go back. So I talked it over with my close friends and then my old man, all of whom agreed that I should stay here in NY and focus on building an actual career. None of them thought going back to Korea would be a good idea, even though I was really happy there.

I know that guys here like Latinoman and Hooligan Harry are big advocates of staying put and building a real career. They say that men start coming into their full masculine power in their 30's and that life in the US gets better around then. And they're right...it's not a good idea to be 35 and still living on a couch somewhere and constantly "finding oneself" through extensive travel.

So I considered finding a career here that would let me be around women a lot, but upon further reading up on the posts here, I can see now why that's a bad idea. Even to me, putting women (esp women you don't even know) in front of a career that makes you happy sounds not just desperate but pathetic. I agree that the correct way is to find a career path that will make you financially independent and stable so that you can fully enjoy your 30's.

my problem is, I don't know where to start. How would you suggest going about finding a good career?

"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

you got layed because you had a higher status compared to those women as well as you were more interesting and new compared to the local guys

if you pick a career to be around women you are on the loosing end of the game, because you are reacting to them

but if you want one, here you go, fashion industry, sell makeup, sell bra`s, just be careful of not landing in with the guys from the "other team"

i'm 26, graduated from a top5 liberal arts school with a double major in history and asian studies. i chose kind of bs majors.

i did well as a teacher, but there's no way i could be objective about that. my kids loved me, but then again...they're kids and easy to impress.

go back to korea, but save all the money you can, when you get $$50k or so, you can do something here. Or have JB Hunt, etc, pay for your 18 wheeler school, drive one year for them, get an Asian immigrant bride your second year, and by year 3, you'll have the 50k saved up, since she will work for 10k a year, or less, and your expenses for the pair of you, will be only 10k a year, if you live in the truck and an old van when you are not on the road. A Korean girls might be the best choice, if you speak Korean.

YOu can each clear 50k a year, but the first year, you won't clear more than 30k and they will use you blatantly, with unpaid overtime, etc. Dont get tricked into buying a new truck. If you want your own and know enough about the biz, get a used one, for like 15k for the tractor and under 10k for the trailer, a refrigerator-box trailer,is the most likely to make you money, IF you really know what is what. Once you have the 50k, there are things that you can do that will let you get started, but another year on the road and another 50k saved would be much better. Then 1-2 years of building-up the investment-properties biz, and you will be all set. So, 3-5 years, depending upon how disciplined you are and somewhat, the luck of the draw.

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

I know a girl who teaches TEFL classes, both in person and online and she always seems to be able to find a job. If you have done something before, then teaching other people who want to do the same thing is a logical next step.

Those majors may seem like BS to you and some other people until you factor in your overseas job experience. You can market those majors to get a position with a security clearance and then they will train you further for the job.

Check out teaching in Saudi Arabia. BIG pay there. OR teach on a Reservation in the states. Bunches of political BS, live in the middle of no where. BUT pay is good...because NO ONE wants to be there.

With the money you can save... a degree in business, MBA, start a business etc.

Look for what is your passion , the thing that you can enjoy it ,try to use "Idea mapping" method , even though it is used for finding business idea mainly

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.
