Surely the poor condition of the school, 2nd worst at english and 3rd worst at maths in the state and the dreadul social conditions of this child, which undoubtedly contributed to this massacre can be laid firmly at the feet of the American government.
The failure or lack of civil rights movements for Native Americans and lack of adequate compensation has driven many to self destruction. For example, the case of the man who helped to lift the iconic 2nd flag on Iwo Jima self destructed through his drinking habits.
Native Americans are passed by by mainstream America and its culture. The only reservations that are successful are those which managed to pander to mainstream commercial interests. Such as those in Nevada which act in gambling and those that pander to the tourist trade.
This is shocking and something needs to be done about the economic deprivation that leads to screwed up social backgrounds, which in turn leads to tragedies like this.
