"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Overall, I can't see a single positive element (especially for men +30) to have Facebook; other than what Desdi is saying. But I think in Desdi's position, FB is not critical to have; if there's already a brigade of women waiting for him to be single.
As I said, I don't have Facebook, so I don't really know. But it seems to me that the arguments against it are largely theoretical, whereas Desdinova laid out a concrete example of how it benefited him (girls seeing his single status and hitting him up).

Though you're correct, I'm sure a superstud like Des doesn't need it. How often do most guys get date offers? Maybe since it's electronic communication, it creates an impersonal buffer, where a girl might not be so hesitant to take a chance at getting rejected.

Now if you have something to hide, I guess you wouldn't want it.

The "mystery" angle is one that I've never cared about. I'm sure it probably helps out if you're looking for one night stands, fvck buddies, or the like. But generally speaking, I prefer a woman to be attracted to me for who I am, not for what she imagines me to be. At some point, she's going to get to know you anyway, if she's going to stick around. So I don't see "mystery" as being a solid attraction factor. It's attraction built on sand.

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

not here. in the real world.
Let your gears calm down my brotha -- people can be hard to deal with, mothers especially, I am sure she means well (she may never really understand where you are coming from--but recognize she probably does mean well).

Sometimes it can feel like all people are against us. Be the eye in the storm!
