Sexuality European vs US

Is it just me or is there something odd?
I notice that europeans are more open about their sexuality while in the usa it's all taboo.
Take for instance these ads.

The way sexuality is treated here in America is very odd. On one hand our culture is completely obsessed with it, but on the other hand it often seems like we are a country of prudes the way we talk about it. Just look at the recent story where a teenage couple got put up for child pornography (!) charges for e-mailing naked pictures of themselves to each other. It's amazing how uptight this country is about sex sometimes.

That's because IMO America has the attitude of if you ignore something for long enough it'll go away. Big generalization but I find they act like it doesn't exist in public but in private the tention is built up so much it bottlenecks.
