"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

ok, so i hung out with some friends tonight. We went over to a Hookah bar by our university and met up with my "ex"(not official GF, just a girl I dated) and her friend. I still do feel awkward/not at ease around her even though its been almost 7 months since she dropped me. I also went through a break down a few nights ago after finding out that she was talking to some other dood and it was pretty clear via myspace comments that they were more than just friends(Myspace, I know, LAME). I ended up chain smoking outside my house at 2AM for 2 hours(pathetic). Anyways, I called up all my options/alternative chicks tonight just to ease me down a bit. One of them, the chick with the BF(I posted about this chick before) agreed to meet with me at the coffee house again for a good hour so I told my friends that I would meet them later at my friends house after an hour to meet with my friend(option). It was a casual average convo. I asked her if it was cool with her BF if she met with me and she said yea, it was cool cuz I was just a "friend". When we were about to part ways, she asked me if she could come with me to my friends house. I asked my friend if it was cool and he said yea cuz he did know her afterall. When we walked inside the house, everyone was staring including my "ex". During that whole time, my ex seemed distraught and whenever i tried to talk to her she wouldnt look at me and kept her responses breif. While everyone was watching the game of Monopoly, I sat down on the couch and just watched TV. Thats when my option sat really close to me and watched too. We were practically cuddling. Anyways, I noticed that my "ex" kept going on the phone and walking around the house. I automatically assumed that she was calling her new dood and was trying to ease down like I was earlier too. An hour passed by and I decided to leave and so did my option. When we walked outside the door, I found my "ex" on the phone sitting on the front steps. I tried to tell her goodbye and even reached in for a hug but she didnt hug back, she just sat there...Thats when I introduced her to my option. As we were walking away, me and my option kept flirting and when we were saying goodbye, she gave me a very intimate hug in front of my "ex"...

I usually LOVE revenge, but I dunno. This one just didn't feel right for some reason. Plus, this was not planned whatsoever.

I thought of reasons as to why I felt uncontent tonight and I came up with these:

- My option had a BF and was really acting "sweet" towards me that night. Im not a homewrecker. I follow bros before hoes. Thats why on the couch, I did not even put my arm around her but it looked like it cuz my arm was resting on the arm rest above her and she leaned on to me. Also, my options ex is one of my friends and was there last night...

- My "ex's" new guy option and herself obviously had more than a just friends thing going on but are still in the talking stage. I guess even though I appeared to have been WITH my option, I knew that we weren't gonna get together and plus, I don't have interest in her sadly. She's sweet and all, but she's known to have been unfaithful in her past relationships and was clearly showing that tonight in front of everyone.

- My friends knew that I was still trippin over my "ex" and seeing me bring another chick to my friends house must have put a "oh, he's trying to show off a new girl in front of his ex...what a low-life" kind of thought. Im pretty sure it was a subject around them as soon as left. I dont want that kind of rep.

- Bascially, I had nothing secure this night. All my options are either unfaithul b!tches or are currently sprung on some dood. It was basically an unintentional act with me gaining nothing from it except a little satisfaction that my "ex" saw me "cuddling" with another girl.

- Also, Im a believer in Karma and that this will hit me back 2 no 3x fold...

This is really getting out of hand. My intentions in the beginning of the year, was to try to get back with my "ex" thats why ive been studying how to get out of the friend zone thing for months now, but sh!t...its all out of hand. Theres a pretty obvious "Who gets the last laugh" competition between me and her. I know that this isnt all in my head. I'd be lying off my ass if I were to say that I didn't have any feelings for my "ex" anymore. All my feelings for her were leftovers from my AFC persona back in the day that would resurface whenever I hear her name, or when shes around that I just can't seem to get rid of no matter how much emotional control I practice.

I feel like a douche...I also feel that my chances of getting back with my "ex" just totally plummeted tonight...

Im totally AFCing right now...I dunno what answer im looking for exactly, so DJ's...what do you guys think??

"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

BTW: When I called my "option", I didnt actually think of her as an option anymore but more like a friend. I decided after our first hangout/date that she was no longer an option due to the fact that she had a BF.

Yea, I know its ridiculous. Im guessing its the essence of my old AFCness you know what I mean? The beauty of discovering this site is that it changes your mentality from AFC to DJ...but i dont think any guys AFCness can completely die. But yea, ive been reading that "7 habits of highly effective people" and have been trying to apply it to my ex. It helped kill my oneitis for her, but dammit, theres always some feelings left. I hate it.

ok, so my assumptions were right.

All my friends inlcuding my "ex" that night all thought I was a ****head.
A very good friend of mine spoke to me about it today. He said that my "ex" even called him about it this morning....I gave my explanation. Im just glad that he understood.

"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.

You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.

She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.

The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.
