I just read the cutting up thread is says that cardio isnt that important to lose weight but my trainer said if I want to lose 25kg(approx 60lbs) he said that cardio is the most important thing, I should do 75% cardio 25% muscle so who's right my trainer or Diesel?

both, it's really the person and not the instruction they give you
but if I had to choose, I'd say DIESEL, it's what you eat that makes you, not what you do (yes, I was stupid that I've done over 2000 pushup but... hey, I thought it gave me strength)

Your trainer is right - except you're going to lose a ton of mass.

I'm right too.. except I'm MORE RIGHT (if that's gramatically correct) b/c at least with my method you'll still burn the fat but keep most of the mass.

If you need to lose 60 lbs, I guarantee you that you need cardio training. Your lungs and heart could use the exercise. One thing bodybuilders forget sometimes is that looking muscular isn't all there is to fitness..

I haven't found either straight cardio or straight diet any better than the other for maintaining muscle mass. Cardio eats away at my legs a little more, but dieting makes me feel lousier. You should mix your trainer's advice with a clean diet.

Big Forearms,
Totally agree,
This is a health and fitness forum not a body building forum.
I personally dont want " big muscles",
but i want what i've got to be defined, as they are,
just my preference, I'm not denigrating anyone here.
Regards
C

Whatever you chose to do. 15, 30, 45 min, or even an hour of cardio.....Please do strength training also. I know a lot of people who lost weight by doing just cardio and they look like ****. I don't mean that they don't look cut, I mean they look like ****!

I know you plan to but please do strength training also, and it will help you burn more calories.
