Punish her after the fact

My gf of about 9 months was going on about a celebrity. Saying how she'd like to go with him and how she'd tell everyone.

I should have put her in her place there and then but played the no reaction/not letting it phase me card. Know she's trying to get a rise out of me but tough to let it slide (when it's regular) without feeling I'm handing my balls over.

Any ideas for punishment after the fact?

If a little baby threw up while you were carrying her, it would barely get a rise out of you. Look at her as the poor, stupid, ugnorant babies that women are. Don't let them phase you or see you sweat. Laugh to yourself and keep doing whatever it is you were doing.

Acting like you don't care by being silent is usually much harder than just playing along and messing with her. Being quiet relies on subtle, non-verbal behavior. Good luck with that. So unless you're an exceptional actor, I wouldn't recommend it. Pretty safe to say she knew it got to you. That's why she kept poking at you about it.

So given that you're not an amazing actor, just f*ck with her next time.

Her: "Channing Tatum is so hawt"
You: "Back off he's mine"
Her: "You're just jealous"
You: "... yeah I can't stand the thought of Channing being with you and not me"
Her: "No I'm serious though"
You: "Maybe you should write him a love letter"
Her: "Maybe I will"
You: "Honestly no offense but I think he'd read the first sentence then rip it up"
