"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

Recently I have had more time on my hands and instead of sitting on the computer all day I would much rather be out there socializing and meeting new people.

The problem is I hardly ever plan things in advance and sometimes i end up sitting on my hands on a friday or saturday night. Im just now getting out of my shell and I know a lot of people that I could kick it with. I was thinking of writing down my social plans every sunday for the week (pool, bowling, poker, parties, clubbing, movie nights etc.) and then just calling up people in advance to invite over or find out what they are doin.

My only honest fear is I don't want to come-off as a tryhard and I find that a lot of my friends and aquaintances seem to be unreliable when it comes to sticking with plans. Im definitely not one of the cool guys everyone wants to be with (working on it) But I figured this would be a great, but difficult, first step in making myself a more outgoing and social person.

And feedback or advice would be appreciated

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

I'm going to sound like a keener for saying this, but...it helped me a lot socially.

Every sunday I write down everything I have to do and buy for the coming week, and also who I want to hang out with, to keep good and useful social connections. Here's an example:

Do:

1. dryclean clothes
2. pick up car parts
3. clean room
4. buy tshirts and socks
5. hang out with jeff
6. hang out with kyle
7. chill with julia
8. hang out with sarah

---------

now, break it down abit further:

what do we know about jeff?

he likes paintball, bowling, and hockey..So, jot down acouple things beside his name for ideas on what to do. Ie:

Hang out with jeff - hit the bars to watch hockey on thursday or go paintballing on thursday.

Put "jeff" into the thursday slot. On thursday, the person you'll try to hang out with is jeff. If he isn't available, whatever. move onto the next person, until the list is done.

The keys are to build your weeks out of individual days, and find out what you have to do, buy, who you have to see, what appointments you have to go to, what you Want to accomplish, and break up all that stuff so you do abit each day of the week. By the weekend, you should have accomplished everything you wanted to do, and be happy :)

here's another little example.

This week:
1. haircut
2. pick up drycleaning
3. go to chiropractor
4. buy belt
5. buy tshirts & socks
6. new sunglasses
7. pick up car parts
8. clean room
9. hang out with jessica - she likes shopping
10. chill with steve - he likes hockey, paintball, and bowling
11. chill with rachel - she likes to play pool and go to bars

------

Monday:
1. Get haircut
2. Pick up drycleaning
3. clean room
Tuesday:
1. go to chiropractor
2. buy socks and tshirts
3. buy belt
Wednesday:
1. Buy sunglasses
2. Pick up car parts
3. Hang out with jessica - go shopping with her, and get whatever it is you need.
Thursday:
1. hang out with rachel - hit the bars and play a round of pool with rachel
2. <if anything comes up, do it now>
Friday:
1. <if anything comes up, do it now>
2. chill with steve - watch the game, call up some buddies and make it an evening.
Saturday:
whatever, there's nothing you need to do now socially and practically, because you did it all during the week. now you can legitimately relax instead of rushing to get all your errands done like everybody else.

Some people say lists are stupid. I think lists make everything easier. Write everything down.
