Why "Whatever You Want" Keeps You Single

She says the movie looks dumb; you suddenly agree. She tests you with a little attitude; you apologize for nothing.

You think you're being easy to get along with. She reads something else entirely: a man with no edges. Nothing to hold on to. No friction, no tension, no reason to wonder what he really thinks.

The "22 Rules" taught me to push back — playfully, calmly, without needing her approval. Strange things happened after that.

So new girl use to be coworkers with my ex.

They are still friends on FB but I know new girl doesnt like her because they had some issues in the past (ex use/was to be a lesbian and was constantly predatoring on her) new girl is 100 percent straight she says.

Anyway so I made out with new girl a few weeks ago, and hung out with her last night. She always mentions ex's name and talks about how made she was and how sorry she is for mentioning it.

I keep telling her its okay thanks for telling me it just solidify what I know.

New girl def likes me but why does she mention my past. Granted my past was a month ago.

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

So have you actually slept with new girl yet? Why so long after the both of you made out?

What was the reason for the breakup with your ex? You say you made out with new girl at a similar time to what you have called "past".

I cannot see anything to thank her for. Try to avoid getting into any drama, anything between you and your ex has nothing to do with new girl. Avoid the subject.

It's probably just down to girlie gossip and she may still be in touch with other co-workers or she could keep badgering on about it to see if you are still attached to your ex.

If you are not getting any sex or positive vibes (I could be wrong, but all you said is that you "hung out" what exactly happened?) I cannot see the use of this "new girl"

Oh new girl mentioned how bad my ex was, of course I try to avoid the topic.

Three weeks ago ex broke up w me, two weeks ago I make out with girl. Girl went to see fam for holidays and came back Tuesday.

Yesterday her roomate was around as well as a mutual friend. Mutual friend knows the deal and said he sees she is into me.

So today I will contact her to hang out alone.

But its just interesting because she will jab at my ex and say "oh to soon"?. I shrug it off and don't dwell on it. Is this what you guys call $hit test?

I would back off any contact 2-3 days before asking her out on an actual date, unless she initiates.

If she tries to bring along someone else, kindly tell her it's just the two of you otherwise decline and move on.

You say you "know" she likes you. The only way to get a vibe of her interest level is to take her out and see how she responds to kino, how she acts around you, her openness, response to second date etc. If she brings up the ex on the date or any point afterwards, explain it's in the past and you no longer wish to talk about it. If she persists, cut the date short, she's wasting your time.

Don't worry about it. It's just a bit of common ground that she wants to kick around for a bit to make sure there's no hangovers (i.e. you want to get back with the ex). The topic will get boring soon enough and you'll move on.

Just don't let the conversations about the ex get beyond the small talk stage. If she tries to get too deep into it, just tell her that your ex is no longer of any interest to you and you don't really feel like talking about her that much - that will make your new girl feel pretty good.

Girls love to talk about their ex's for some reason.

A) Talk about some girl you met that ended up being a stripper.

B) Tell her you really don't care about her X.
