"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

I just found out "Jill", one of my clients fired me, for talking about her friend, Kelly who I used to date.
Kelly was walking her horse into the park, past where we and the veterinarian were dealing with Jill's horse.
I had commented how it's been four years since Kelly dumped me, and she still won't speak to me. In fact, she gets a painful look on her face when she sees me. Wouldn't a normal person get over it by now?
Jill took offense and decided that was unprofessional and disrespectful, so she's got another blacksmith for her horse. I won't miss Jill, she's morbidly obese and has no business owning a horse. She couldn't get on or off a horse if her life depended on it. I'll miss her horse, though; we've been good friends. People thought it was great that I'd met another woman who could ride and enjoy the horse instead.
When Kelly dumped me, my first impulse was to quit working where she keeps her horse, but eventually all my clients there dumped me anyway. They all seem really tight with my ex, who does a pretty good Victim Chick impression.
It's interesting how this misandry plays out, because if a VC dumps a man, it's because he's horrible and needs to be punished. If he dumps her, he's horrible and needs to be punished. If a guy in college gets falsely accused of rape, he's the one who gets kicked out of school. She gets "counseling".
What gets me is how NONE of the people around my ex will just talk to her and say "It's been four YEARS, grow up, get over it and try acting normal for a change." These are the same people who got so excited when they found out we were dating... they thought it was the greatest thing going on, and when she dumped me, gave her a hard time for it. Kelly is an off-limits topic around me, so I can't even ask them for clues.
This eats at me, because I genuinely liked that crowd and enjoyed working for them.

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

They're children. I could of cared less of who did what with their genitals and would of cared about nothing but the services one has to offer me. It's ridiculous when anyone listens to only one argument and decides 'just like that' which side to take. You are getting 50% of the equation. Do you make decisions with 50% info when you buy a car? A house? It's laughable. This should give you some sort of insight on their intelligence level.

Or you could try being an adult and not talk about your personal life with clients. Especially female clients. The whole point of telling something to a woman is for her to tell other people, especially her friends. You know that right? I tell women something when I want them to get a message to another woman. And even then I carefully choose my words.

Yup. Man is always the outsider of society. Society is women, children and the men who are currently with the women and children. Outsider males are shunned for the slightest offence. Your best bet would have been to shut your mouth and do an exceptional job and prove your value as a worker. The rest would blow over eventually.

Shut your mouth from now on.

Yeah, I sometimes gab like that knowing full well it'll get to who I really want to hear it, but this time I walked into a clearly posted minefield.

"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

This. When you have a business relationship, protect it. Guard your reputation at all costs. And stop worrying about why someone won't talk to you - it's really her problem, not yours.
Agreed. The more you talk about it, the worse it is.

While proudly showing off his new apartment to friends, a college student led the way into the den. "What is the big brass gong and hammer for?" one of his friends asked. "That is the talking clock," the man replied. "How's it work?""Watch," the man said and proceeded to give the gong an ear shattering pound with the hammer. Suddenly, someone screamed from the other side of the wall, "Knock it off, you idiot! It's two o'clock in the morning!"
