"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.

You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.

She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.

The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.

Call it self discipline or whatever you want but I've found ever increasing value in keeping my head tightly screwed on and not being to volitile when it comes to my decision making practices as well as my rules for living in general. When I feel my self starting to slip or stray from a practice or when I can see my self looking down a road of untimely destruction with no back up I f*cking snap my self back in line and out of that phase.

I've always preached mental toughness to my friends but until recently I didn't have a full grasp on what was all about. I've been workin two jobs a totally of 7 days a week for almost 4 months now (My last and only day of was July 4th so that week I only worked 6 days I'm not sure i'll be working memorial day but i'm sure i can if i wish it) and let me tell you waking up every day knowing i have to be one of two places (if not both) has really straightened me out and forged me into a much more controlled individual. Some say it's crazy, I hope their wrong becasue I've got one more month of it and it woudl be a shame to see me lose my sanity after such a long stretch. I feel stronger in myself and I see some of the people at both of my jobs compromise who they are and what they believe in for what can only be summed as petty needs and lack of mental fortitude.

In fact just yesterday my manager from one of my jobs confessed to me that he was going to break a personal rule and "sh*t where he eats" (go out with a co worker) I know the person he's talking about and he's going to be entering a very very chaotic situation between his work life and his socil life if he does such. Maybe he's hard up for it, but he's already getting some from somewhere else. I just don't think he has the self control to say no to the girl like I did when she tried the same crap on me. He lacks focus and mental toughness.

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

I started studying mental toughness about 10 years ago and although I am close to cracking sometimes, I know I'm way better off than I would have been without it.

We do need to program our minds positively. I've had a tough year, but compared to some people I really have nothing to complain about.

i feel the same way...i am at a crossroads in my life where I question myself whether I have the tenacity to excel in the positive aspects (school, work, gym) and the ability to resist the negative temptations (excessive masturbation, too much web surfing, laziness)

I dont want to further corrupt myself with all the instant gratification **** that society allows us.

wrong........

PRMoon,

Your boss is dead wrong.

He is about to break rule #34. (which states):

'Don't put your meat where you get your bread.'

(he will learn)

"You Can't Argue a Woman Into Liking You"

You made your case like a lawyer. Stable job. Good guy. Ready for something real. All true. All irrelevant.

She weighed your points, nodded along, felt nothing — then fell hard for some tattooed bartender with a motorcycle and a gambling problem.

Logic is where attraction goes to die. The "22 Rules" work a level deeper, on the subconscious switches that decide within minutes whether you register as a MAN or as part of the furniture.

Stop presenting evidence. Start flipping switches.

Religion is a fine place to learn mental toughness and integrity.....

Does anyone have any other resources on mental toughness....

Im guessing it is something that YOU as an individual have to work on.

Mental toughness/discipline separates wide eyed dreamers from men of accomplishment. Let me tell you, there are too many dreamers in this world.

Discipline is achieved in small victories pushing your comfort level. It is victory of the mind over the body. It is change of habit and dealing with the pain of uncomfort to become greater and more in control.

I first learned discipline in the gym. I carried that over into other areas of my life.

1. Do a google search for "vince lombardi quotes". Read the pages that come back. The dude had so many good things to say about mental toughness, success, etc.

2. Read books and articles about self-made entrepreneurs. Better yet, go out in your town and go interview a few of the more successful ones of to learn about their life and their work and how they got where they are.

3. Study history. You'll find pretty quickly that there is a common denominator among men who accomplished great feats. Mental toughness.

4. Look to the military. Do they f*** around? The whole military culture prides itself on mental toughness. You must be willing to be your own drill instructor.

Today's generation of youth (at least in America) lacks in this characteristic more so than at any other point in history. Look what's happening as a result. I don't need to spell it out for you. Most people choose to live in mediocrity with everything they do. They do so because they aren't willing to sacrifice the temporary comforts in their life, and they need immediate gratification. Choose to evolve. Choose to become mentally tough and strive for excellence in everything you do, and the world is yours.

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

Mental toughness is everything - no matter what you must do to achieve what you're after, if you have enough mental toughness, you will eventually achieve it.

Mental toughness is hard to get, though, especially when you don't have any, because you need to be tough to be able to do what it takes to get tougher.

This is why "small victories" are so critical; you're going to be discouraged going after anything bigger. The only problem is that most big, life-changing things don't lend themselves to "small victories" and "baby steps"; it's actually easier to just dive in with them.

I have a question for all of you, how do you *exactly* "workout" your mental toughness? It just seems a bit unclear to me reading some of the messages (might just not be getting it though).

I started my mental toughness 'training' with working out, and dieting, resisting grabbing that bag of chips or eating junkfood.

Right now, I seem to have a fear of getting a job, so instead of thinking badly about my internship that I will have soon, I think of it as a way to get over my fear of having a job.

Besides the whole working 2 jobs (props man), what have you done, read, experienced, that has helped with your mental toughness?

I'm working on it, but I find I am weak in foreign situations. Thanks.
I've read a lot about self disciplie and auto biographies by mentaly tough people. Alot of them are the type of people who have to make really hard decisions (the kind that involve sacrifice of some kind, mostly governmental/military minds) that really does help you get a picture for results and the methods of mental toughness.

I myself find myself pushing the boundaries on my comfort zone all the time to increase my mental toughness as well as making decisons that don't sit well with me and often get me upset because i'm striving for "the greater good" insituations. Mental toughness is definately not something you'll achieve over night, it's gonna take some depression and some heart ache for you to get there.

You can find opportunties for mental toughness in just about any area in life. It could be something simple like waking up 30 mins earlier ever day for a month to do something additionally productive with your morning. You're right in assuming that its something that you've got to find for yourself and you really do have to want it becasue to have a strong mind definately takes dedication to a cause that you have to be hungry for.

If you're just dilly dallying with the idea of potentially improving control of your mind and your life then it's more then likely not going to work out because it's so much easier not to improve and do nothing then it is to take those steps forward.

Working out definately takes a degree of mental toughness. Forcing yourself to go to the gym when you're tired or don't want to is definately pushing that comfort zone. Resisting foods is right up there too, reaching for leeks instead of french fries is an awesome start..

Fear of getting a job is a maturity thing not necessarily a toughness issue. I hate being un employeed because Ihate being broke. So do most of the working people in the world (or at least in the states anyway) so it's more like aversion of the fear of destitution that puts us in that mental state.

Just wanted to say this is right on the money. You won't read or hear about anthing that describes the roots of mental toughness better then this. Mental toughness separates the sharks from the sheep. If you're not already a shark you have to work hard to become one then it kinda snow balls. Small victories are definately key towards changing your life, but significant changes require big brass balls and sometimes throwing risk to the wind.

I would say that it's also not a toughness issue because it's an external factor (poverty) that's motivating you, as opposed to an internal one (ambition).

This difference between external and internal motivation is something I'm certain a lot of guys here have problems with. They never learned how to develop their own goals and find it in themselves to pursue them because these were both always given from outside by parents, teachers, and peers.

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.
