"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Anyone try using this website: meetup.com

Made it my New Years Resolution -- my only one really -- to join a couple of them. Doing dodgeball for fun and some singles adventures in my city group. I'd like to expand my social circle and any women I meet from it would just be an added bonus.

Woke up this morning and already had a PM from some woman from the meetup, saying I looked cute in my pic & liked that I had an advanced degree. LOL, she's about 37 and not good at all -- This should be very very interesting.

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

I tried meetup several times...didn't like it much. It was good for just doing random stuff with a bunch of people you've never met before, so if you just want to meet new people, then it's worth it. What I've found is that when you join a group and go to events, you tend to run into new faces each time, so each "meetup" feels like a first meet and you basically start from scratch every time. It is, however, certainly possible to meet someone, men or women, and just click and be able to become friends but in my experience, it hasn't happened (then again I'm not the overly social types and takes a long time to warm up so results will obviously vary). If you're using it for another avenue for pickups, be aware that you'll be competing with ALL the other guys there and as in most other circumstances, the men have outnumbered the women (but that hasn't stopped lots of you on this board before now has it? lol!). I'm done with it personally, for a number of reasons.

Yeah you can try it out, you never know. It would be hilarious if it's a sausage fest when you get there lol.
