Can you just imagine the howls of outrage if the media did a story about "The Babe in the crowd at the debate"?

Is this not a huge double-standard? It is OK to objectify a man about his looks, but if you do the same about a woman......

Well, the media did say how Joe Wilson's wife Valerie Plame (the undercover CIA agent that was outed, causing a scandal that got Scooter Libby convicted) was a like a James Bond woman - and how the Yahoo CEO has Hollywood good looks.

But yes, there is a bit of a double standard - but it is more of gossipy fanfare. Ironically, the pol considered to be the most attractive man ever to have a (future) political career was JFK Jr. (before his tragic death), who was the executive publisher of George Magazine, which was self-defined at the outset as being a semi-political, semi-gossip rag.
