"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

So there you are, your mate telling you he's split with this girl. What a shame "It's be alright mate",

but at the back of your mind you're thinking

now's my chance!

Any comment?

2 mates have split with thier girlfriends and I reckon my chances with both are pretty good. But if I ask them out for an obvious date I might be risking my friendship.... which in this case is more important.

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

There are so many other women out there, why go for your friends ex's?!?

Dude.... no man! Even if your friend DOES say "its ok", deep inside he will never be ok with you going for his ex's man! Thats just wrong in my eye's and i wouldnt do that, with or without my friends permission. But thats just me, and i guess that if you DO ask your friend and he IS ok with it, then go for it, but i'm personally against the idea of going for friends ex's.

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

heres the deal buddy, there are many factors in this touchy situation. It depends on the relationship (1. length of time 2. were they in love 3. how serious was the relationship). If the relationship was serious dont even think about it, a buddy is worth much more than a piece of a$$. there are tons of chicks out there but only a few true buddies.

My friends and myself kind of have an unwritten rule, we have all had long term meaningful relationships and those girls are off limits to our friends, gentlemans rules ya' know. but if we are just takin a chick out for the hell of it, no real ties other then a hot chick, f*ck it man its fair game. Aint no fun if the buddies cant have none.

thats our take on the friends ex's

happy hunting

Well, I'm pleased I took it easy.

Bit of background, girl#1 is a dream girl, lot of problems on her with her don't apply. Facied her since before they were together.
Girl#2. Whenever we're out I get the impression that she doesn't want to be with him, that she really wants to be with me but doesn't do anything about it. For that reason though I don't find her too attractive

Saturday night I asked mate#1 how he felt about breaking up and stuff. At first he seemed really laid back about it so I said "Yeah, but how would you feel if some other guy stepped in there?" and he admitted that he'd be peeved, so I said `what are you doing then?`

As for couple#2 I think they just do what's convienent. Laziness I'm sure some people here could admit to...

The whole thing's a nightmare, not worth it. I just asked here because my flatmate said his friends and him do it no problems. I should have got in there before my mate did.

A universe...where heartbreak and sadness have bee
If you guys are just casual acquaintences, go for it.

If you're good friends, I would wait until he finds himself another girl before trying anything.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

Also check out My other post "In Regards to 'Do women have all the power?'"

I lost my friend in that story not because I persued his girl, but because she persued me. My friend completely disolved our relationship because she was going after me.

allow me to tell you the whole story to the best of my recolection in shorthand so as not to bore you.

Met his girlfiriend, talked a little bit (with him there). When she left I told him that the girl was completely wrong for him.
He didn't listen (ok, w/e).
She broke up with him because he was too "clingy" (told him it would happen, and for that reason too).
She flirted with me remained friends with him. I told him she was flirting with her, so he tells her I said that! then he comes up with a hairbrained idea that it would be fun to **** with my head and have her openly flirt with me in front of him.
she doesn't go for it, gets my number from his cell phone.
texts me wants to chill. I tell him again that if he values our friendship than he needs to talk to her.
mind you he's trying to win her back (did i say clingy or what).
he get's pissed of at me for telling him that she's trying to get together with me and completely goes off on me for telling him about what she is doing.
disolves friendship.

I wouldn't recomend it, but I will say that it will test your friendship and if it's not strong enough you will loose a buddy of yours.

My BEST-friend however wouldn't care if it was an ex. hell he'd probably throw me the rubber and tell me to enjoy myself.
It's sh!t like this that defines an acquaintance and a true friend.
