This isn't really a "ljbf" speech that's being given, so the title of this post is inaccurate. Anyway... I find girls that say this either feel the guy is trying to rush into one, or they actually DO want a relationship but don't want to get themselves into something that may not work out, especially if they feel the guy's only trying to sleep with them. Either way, my answer to this statement is always answered in one of two ways:
Her: I'm not ready for a relationship
Me: Then why are you bringing it up?
Her: I'm not ready for a relationship
Me: Good to know - so, anyway... (continuing on with whatever we were talking about before)
The reality of the situation is that her saying this would cause most guys to fall into some kind of "serious conversation" where he explains why they need to be together, thus making him sound like he's trying to beg her for a relationship. Me, my mind frame is that I don't care if this becomes something or not because if it doesn't I can find someone else. So, as a result, I'm able to play it to where if we get into a relationship it's cool, but if not that's cool too. Amazingly, not giving them an answer that makes them think I want a relationship with them... usually results in them wanting a relationship with me, lol.
In sum: when they give you this statement, don't try to negotiate fellas - just play cool, don't apply so much pressure, and realize that, at the worst, she just gave you a pass to keep hitting on other women!
