I'm dreading leg days; no other day takes it out of me more than legs. I get short of breath to the point where I can barely breath and I get incredible vertigo on the verge of fainting. Anybody else experience this from leg days?

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Legs are hard and unpleasant. That's why few train them hard or at all.

I've been lifting for years and I rarely look forward to squat day. But part of lifting is doing sh!t you don't want to do. And I always feel a sense of well being after a heavy squat workout.

Ya squats suck... I have a total love/hate relationship with them. Its a great feeling to get a PB on squats/deads though. Totally makes everything you do in the gym worth it!

When I trained legs 2 times a week and had track work 2x a week I found high dose glutamine, like 20-30 g a day, really helped my recovery. Again, I don't know if this was just a placebo or the real deal, but this is one supplement that can really help you w/ recovery. We use it w/ burn patients to promote growth/healing, so there is at least some scientific merit behind it.

Leg day should make you nauseas to get the right hormonal response and growth hormone release. Most find it hard to do that week in week out though, so you may want to look into cycling your intensity(only 1 or 2 100% effort leg sessions a month) for the rest take some weight off the bar(10-25%) and go for more reps.

Legs should be the bulk of your entire week, compared to any other day. If you can't go extremely hard on leg days then the rest is moot.

You name it I've done it(except vomit);light headed, collapsed on stairs leaving the gym,had legs lock on me when I'm down low half way through the squat, shaken violently from getting that extra rep or two out at the end,I turn pure red on the last set on the last few reps.

Even in the middle of winter when I throw in a pizza here and there, and take a day or two off during the week to change it up. I ALWAYS have a leg day, doesn't matter. Even after having sex twice within a hour. If you can't 'get in the zone' for leg days you won't have the heart and dedication it takes to shape the rest of your body.

Damn blinkwatt, You are making my leg days sound rather light, maby I should be putting more effort in. :p

generally speaking, I really like working my legs, it feels so much more like a complete exercise, a set of 5 heavy parallel squats gets my heart pounding like no other lift. Deadlifts come close, but not quite.

Cure.

haha! I know I know. Im going as low as I can, parrallel is what I can currently manage without my lower back rounding.

Its a hip mobility problem, I go all the way down on front squats, because I can, the torso angle is more upright.

Cure.

Problem with parellel squats is that they are subjective. One man's "parallel" is another man's 1/4 squat.

Best to have a partner that keeps you accountable, or do box squats. My gym's parallel box is about 14" high.
