Priced out of Austin, he bought a one-way ticket out of the US. Now, he lives on a Thai island for a fraction of the cost.
Despite having a degree in computer science, he struggled to get a job and ended up moving to an island in Thailand.

TLDR - Story takeaways
1. A bachelor's degree (even a STEM one) doesn't guarantee good employment. Even a decent paying STEM job won't automatically result in pussie in a big USA city.
2. Bigger USA cities are expensive (even moderately priced Austin, TX). It takes a lot of money to live a decent lifestyle. Moving overseas can reduce costs and increase sexual visibility. Just Be White (JBW) might be at play in this Southeast Asia expat story.
The subject of this story is a guy who looks like a typical beta male. He is a Millennial. He looked like a stereotypical Austin, TX guy.
He is a mid-tier looking guy with glasses, an unimpressive haircut, and lacks big muscles. He would probably rate in the 5-6.5 range on looks alone.
He received a Computer Science bachelor's degree but could not secure employment with his bachelor's degree during the 2010s. He was delivering food on his bicycle in Austin, TX in the late 2010s and doing some other odd gig work. He was living in a place with 3 roommates near Downtown Austin. It was likely an older house.
Based on his looks, lack of money, and lack of status, he was likely sexually invisible in Austin.
He moved to Austin primarily to live a more inexpensive lifestyle, though it is likely that a lack of LMS in the USA was also a contributing factor to why he moved to Thailand.
In Thailand, it appears that he has been more sexually successful. He met a local Thai woman and has a fiancé now. It is likely he would have accomplished that in Austin, TX living with 3 roommates and working in the gig economy.
Do you think it is a better strategy for ordinary men in the USA to expat to cheaper areas for a better lifestyle and greater sexual visibility?
