A study found that internet addiction changes young people's brain chemistry, making them more prone to addiction. Researchers looked at 12 studies with 237 kids aged 10-19 and used brain scans to see the effects. They noticed that brain activity went up in some areas when resting and down in others used for thinking and decision-making. This leads to more addictive behavior and problems with mental health, development, and coordination. The study highlights the need for early treatment and parental awareness to manage internet addiction better.

Well we really don't have a great understanding of the brain to begin with so for us to sit here and speculate on alterations when the base meaning still escapes us is a bit silly, women experience alterations to their brain after giving birth as well, both could be linked to dopamine respectively
