"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Hi Guys;
Well it's been a while since i've posted here... actually about 3 years since i've seriously posted (and moderated) here.
The reason is because i've been in a phenomenal LTR that is now over. We broke up on good terms and she's still a great girl (so no ex bashing) but I need to move on.
Since i've been out of it for soooooo long i've lost my touch. I'm going into university in the fall so that should be a BLAST and a HUGE opportunity to start fresh. I've been going to parties with friends and i've been keeping busy to subside the pain.
I can still talk to chicks without flipping out but i'm just not "in the zone".
There is this one girl that i've been friends with for a while - she's super hot and finally single. I do have some stiff competition though. She's dating another guy who owns a very successful company (he picked her up in a limo). I own my own business but it's just a small photography company. Anyway... she's been a friend for 5 years that I want to move from the friends zone to a relationship (short term). I've gone out with her once and we had ups and downs because she was telling me about her breakup and vice versa... stupid amateur move but i was hurtin'. I've got another date lined up but i'm looking for any edge I can get right now. I ended up going to her place after the date and we watched a movie - it was fun and all but nothing happened. I'm worried that if I start trying to make out with her it will fvck up the friendship side of things. I'm also worried she'll be like "WTF are you doing!?"
So there's the barrier. I want to score with her and keep her for a while, have a fun easy going relationship but not risk too too much. If anybody could provide some advice to this (now afc) old school dj i'd be greatly appreciative.

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

She will be won over by emotion and the physical connection you make. You don't need money for that, go in confidence and leave with her. This rich guy doesn't sound like much without his money, and its not like you are poor. The one that plays the game the best will win here. Don't use logic, its emotion that plays huge here.

Well I can definitely relate to you r situation: ur digging a chick but u got competition with a guy whose more financially stable than u are and may have better game than u as well---well I think its just like the one guy said above--fight this one with your heart-I know it may sound a little soft but its true--use what you've got--you can't outdo this guys far as materials go, but perhaps you can beat him by showing her something that guy doesn't have--confidence to show his real emotions--I believe you have that--let that be your weapon obi-won lol! But seriously-ur going to have get that mojo you once had 3 years ago in order to get this chick--ur mojo isn't gone-it's just been supressed for a while. How badly you want this chick will determine how long it takes you to find that mojo again!

Good Luck ole' skool!

There is this one girl that i've been friends with for a while

She's dating another guy

I want to move from the friends zone to a relationship

These are the most common statements on this forum. Do some reading. This problem has been covered in detail hundreds of times.

I want to score with her and keep her for a while, have a fun easy going relationship but not risk too too much.

You are her friend and most likely that's all she wants from you. Put your game on her to test the relationship. Don't worry about the risk because there is none. Good women do not break off friendships because a guy makes the moves one time.

If she wants you sexually, she will respond by getting horny and giving it to you.

If she's a good person, but not attracted to you, she will be flattered and politely decline. She will also set you up with hot women and provide social proof. This is a balanced friendship. You listen to her problems and she gets you laid.

If she's a manipulative *****, she will get pissed at you, or she will stop you and give false hope statements, like "I'm not ready for a relationship now", "I don't want to rush things", I'm not sure what I want", These statements are put out to give you false hope for future sex in an effort to keep you around. She will also not provide anything for you out of this friendship and she will not help you with other women because she wants to dominate your time.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

Wow thanks for all the advice guys. Actually I made plans with her for tomorrow night and she keeps saying "i'll get back to you" . . . I don't have time to wait around forever so as cute as she is she was also my only prospect at the time which made her more valuable. She wasn't able to go tomorrow night so i'm going out w/ friends instead.

I also got 2 numbers today... it changes things and my self confidence is on the way up :D

^pleased to hear it, "I'll get back to you" is never a good sign in my book, it's either a yes or a no, it sounds like she is stringing you along, I'm in the same boat dude...I am rusty as hell and need help with my game as I keep meeting the wrong and young girls that either want to be friends or already have BF's.

Good Luck though

:D
